Ava Paige looked out over the city, lost in thought, not noticing Janson walking into the room. He approached her slowly,
"Taking the edge off I see" he was referring to the drink held lazily in Ava's hand, she took a sip.
"Beautiful isn't it" Janson was also looking out over the city now, he couldn't help but agree with her, "The walls," she continued, "It is amazing what people can accomplish when their life is at stake, squeeze them hard enough there is nothing they can do." They both returned their gaze out the window, Janson, remembering what he had come into this room to tell Ava about, cleared his throat.
"We have a slight situation, the girl, your niece was spotted outside the walls," he paused unsure how to say it, "She was seen with Thomas and the other subjects from Maze trial A, after the last stunt she pulled a few months ago at that WCKD facility, we thought we had gotten rid of her, but she is as elusive as ever."
Ava was surprised, this was an interesting revelation, maybe they could kill two birds with one stone, get rid of her troublesome niece for good, and get the test subjects back in WCKD property so they could finally find a cure.
"But you took care of them when you opened fire on the people outside of the walls, correct?" she questioned, raising an eyebrow at him.
"Yes, just thought you would want to know" She stayed silent, Janson quickly caught on to what she was thinking about, "it will be a minor setback, there will be others who carry the immunity in there blood, not just Thomas."
"The virus is airborne, it is inside the walls"
He sucked in a sharp breath, this was anything but a small setback, if the virus was inside the walls then all would be in chaos. "The serum was our last chance, anyone who was not already infected will be in a month, what is the point, we can't keep hunting immunes until there are none left, at least we gave them the tools to survive, hopefully they can succeed where we failed, this is the end Janson" Ava said calmly, rising up from her chair and heading towards the door, but Janson blocked her path.
"That's it?" Ava looked over at an enraged Janson, "You are just giving up, after everything we have done, all the progress we have made""It's not about giving up, it's that we lost" and without another word, she walked around him and exited the room.

TILLY'S POV
Gally and I walked through the carpark, it seemed there were soldiers around every corners, but I know this place like the back of my hand and had factored all the guards into my plan, gally and I were coming in through the carpark, at the same time, Thomas and Teresa would be entering through the main entrance and would head to a lift, going up to the first floor, where they would meet newt, then us. It was a simple enough plan, but with how the place was crawling with guards so we always had to be on our guard, if we got caught, who knows what would happen.
Gally and I had nearly made it to the set of stairs that lead up to the rest of the main building when A masked man came up to us, stopping us from proceeding.
"State your business" A monotone voice echoed out from underneath the mask, I thought quickly, we had not anticipated this but I knew of a few of the head generals in the WCKD guards, and what most lower level guards did, knowledge like that always came in handy.
"We were stationed here following the shipment of the new arrivals" I did not look back at Gally as I replied, we could not risk drawing anymore attention to ourselves, I just prayed he would not ask anymore questions, not wanting to risk saying something wrong.
"Where are you going now?" Shit, I racked my brains for an answer as quickly as possible but Gally answered for me.
"Official business, sanctioned by General Keneric" I fought the urge to look back at Gally and ask who that was, I thought I had a decent knowledge of the guards around here, but clearly not good enough.
