Jasmine pov:

Back to present:

I open up my eyes after getting those flashbacks.

The first thing I see is the tv raised up ward of the wall in front of me.

I look down and I'm in a hospital gown. So that made me realize I'm in a hospital.

I look to my right and I see my mom standing right beside me.

"Hey kiddo" she says smiling with tears in her eyes.

"Hi mama" I said with my watery eyes that are hard to see from how watery they are.

"Hey you in pain?" She asks me since she assumed the reason my eyes are watery is because I'm in pain.

I just said yeah even though it wasn't the pain. I can handle pain so the pain that I'm currently having isn't that bad and could have been worse. Luckily it wasn't but it was just remembering Jennie.

"Oh baby I'm sorry" she tells me in a broken voice that I hardly recognized. Which I was able to tell she has been crying so she knows about what happened at school.

"It's ok" I tell her while crying acting like if it's the pain but no it wasn't. It was a broken pain that was hard to bear. That pretty much everyone has experienced before.

A loss...

After I cried for a while I'm in my mom's arms. She lets go of me and tells me.

"You want to meet Nia now or later?" She tells me while she has a big smile on her face real wide along with her cheeks being flushed with pink.

"Later I'm a bit tired" I tell her.

She understands me so she nodded and we stood there in silence and eventually I fall asleep.

Hours later I wake up again with my mom beside me asleep and it's morning.

I grab her phone that is left on her hand.

I look at what time was it and it's 2 in the afternoon.

Which made me realized I have slept for 2 days which that is crazy.

So then after I checked the time on her phone I put her phone back onto the palm of her hand.

As I'm doing that my mom wakes up.

"Hey you doing ok? What were u doing?"

"Hey I'm good just checking the time"

"Did you do anything on my phone?"

"No why" I curiously asked her clearly skeptical what she could be hiding from me

"Nothing" she says and looks way from me and grabs her phone and puts it in her pocket.

Weird... but I just ignored it cuz that ain't my business.

Then I went back to sleep after that interaction with my mother.

I woke up again and felt a bit better than earlier.

"Hey you feeling ok?" My mother asked me.

"I feel great" I tell her and give her a goofy smile along with my right thumb up from my right hand just to mess around with my mom.

"I could tell they have you on some pretty good drugs for the pain" she tells me with the same tone to mess with me too.

After my mom says that I burst into laughter and afterwards she laughs along with me as well.
