Hey, It wasn't my fault, she was the one who threw the first punch. Well, okay maybe it was me, but she shouldn't be smack-talking my brother just because she's a princess and she thinks she can do that sort of thing.
Now you may be thinking: Blizzard, why in the seal snot did you pick a fight with the heir to the Icewing throne? I'll answer that for you: Sapphires a bully and I wanted to put her in her place.
Okay, maybe I should start from the start:
So as a child my father never really wanted me and he thought I was a disappointment to the entire family and that it was my fault that my mom died- Hahaha sike, I'm not going into that stuff yet (or ever) I meant the start of today.
No one is getting into the deep Bliz buisness until later, capeesh?
Anyway, it's a day I've dreaded for ages because It's a challenge day. Challenge day is just a bunch of tests and well... challenges that Icewing dragonets have to do for school at the end of each year. I always ace these, and today was no different, I'm guessing I'll get a pretty decent grade like always. But It isn't me I'm worried about.
Snow, my little brother, is the sweetest, kindest Icewing I've ever met, he's just not the best at... fighting. Or hunting, or flying, or remembering who the tribe queens were ten years after the scorching- or just about everything except for building snowdragons.
So basically he's a 'stupid Mudwing' or even worse a 'disappointment.' Yeah. I've heard people calling him that one even more than I hear myself being called it. And he's only three!
So I betcha can guess that I'm a smidge overprotective of him- and when I say smidge, I mean super duper wuper with extra walruses on top. So of course when 'Princess' Sapphire started teasing him, saying he has a 'half-dead whale for a brain', I may have... well... beat the yellow snow out of her. Okay maybe that's a bit pretentious, she beat me up too of course...
My wings ache from the flying race but that doesn't stop me from sprinting towards Frost and throwing them around her with a grin.
"First place!" she screams in joy.
"I know, I saw you!" I reply with a laugh. She hugs me a little tighter and my heart does an embarrassing little jolt.
"That was so cool! I was soaring over everyone lightning fast, dodging everyone, and then I passed Chillbreath and you should've seen his face!" She recounts, breathless with excitement.
I laugh trying to picture the big buff (stupid) Icewing's face as the girl he's beaten in flying races for years, speeds past him.
"I'm so happy for you. If you need any more flying lessons hit me up. Oh and next time," I smirk, "It's a date" I whisper, grinning.
She snorts. "As if. Maybe I should ask Chillbreath to go out with me."
She grins and pulls a bewildered Chillbreath-esque facial expression.
"Huh? Me?" She mimics in a stupid voice. I laugh, but even though I know she's joking, my heart twinges with jealousy.
"But for real...thank you for everything. If it wasn't for you I would be kicked out of the tribe" Frost jokes.
I roll my eyes. Frost is an incredible fighter and flyer, but everyone (including herself) always compares her to her 4 older siblings, two of which are exceptional fighters and are in the Queen's personal guard and her other two super smart siblings in the Queen's council.
"No, you wouldn't," I say, shaking my head in annoyance, "You're great at combat, just no way near as good as me."
For that comment, she smacks me playfully with her wing and starts laughing. My heart warms and I join in.
