"THREE MOONS BLIZZARD!" Frost screeches, echoing across the clearing. "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!"I see her storm through the thick forest of evergreen trees and into the snowy glade where I'm collapsed, half-buried in snow.
"BLIZZARD! WHERE ARE YOU!?" Frost screams and I wince.
"I'm right here," I groan quietly. Frost charges towards me, across the snow with a satchel strapped across her chest.
"BLIZZARD! WHY IN PYRRHIA DID YOU PICK A FIGHT WITH THE HEIR TO THE ICEWING THRONE!?" She shouts angrily.
"Hey," I moan weakly. "I've already been yelled at by my father for what I did, there's no need for you to do it too. Plus, you're far too cute to be angry at me, it's just not as effective on you. My dear old daddy is much better at it." I say with an unconvincing attempt at a smirk.
All the anger drains out of Frost's face and she winces. "Did he..." She trails off, but I know what she's talking about. "Yell with his fists? Yeah. He did." I say regretfully, absentmindedly trailing my talon over the purplish marks on my limbs.
"Bliz... I'm so sorry..." Frost trails off sadly, pressing her forehead against mine and twining our tails together.
"No, no it's okay." I say defiantly. "Yup. I'm fine. Completely fine, look, I'll even stand up!" I say and attempt to stand. But the blood oozing from my wounds makes me woozy and I collapse instantly. Frost catches me and for two seconds we are intertwined in each other's arms until Frost clears her throat and sits me down gently on the snow.
"Right leg." Frost demands and I stretch out my leg. Frost then pulls out a whole cabinet-worth of medical supplies and begins bandaging my wounds and applying salve to my throbbing scratches.
The cream instantly soothes the stinging pain and I let out an embarrassing moan of pleasure. Frost snorts, amused, but doesn't say anything else as her nimble claws bind the deep gashes across my chest carefully.
Then she eases me onto my back and dips a claw into some sort of poultice and trails her talon down the scratch on my spine. I shiver at her touch.
"That should be all good for now." Frost informs. "But I advise you to stop beating up people unless you know that you're going to win!" She scolds sternly.
"Hey, I totally won that fight!" I grumble weakly.
Frost rolls her eyes. "Well if you did win the fight, you wouldn't be here lying in the snow getting bandaged up like a dragonet with a skinned knee!" Frost points out. I smirk.
"If I'm a dragonet, does that mean you're my mommy?" I grin. Frost rolls her eyes but I can see the smile tugging at the corner of her snout.
"You sir." Frost laughs, swatting my nose with her talon. "Are the worst flirt Pyrrhia has ever had!"My smirk grows. "I can't be that bad if I managed to get you to fall hopelessly in love with me.""True." Frost agrees matter-of-factly and I gasp audibly.
"What's that?!" I pronounce dramatically. "Did Frost of Chill Valley just admit she has a crush on me?!" "Oh shut up," Frost giggles, flicking my ear affectionately. "Never!" I declare enthusiastically. "All shall knoweth how thy heart yearns for mine!"
"Shush you ridiculous walrus, let's go Ice Skating!" She exclaims excitedly. "Ughhh," I whine. "I don't want to, I'd rather annoy you." I smirk, pressing cold snow to my throbbing bruises.
"Oh come on, lazy lump. It'll be fun! Plus, you do that all the time, I'm pretty sure you can do that while ice skating, you're a genius at it." Frost reprimands, grabbing me by the tail and dragging me onto the frozen lake. "I demand you go ice skating with me!" Frost commands. "Doctors orders." Frost pulls me up and catches me when I slip on the slick snow.
