Chapter 10 - An Unexpected Encounter

Five years had passed since Nabi's triumphant return to South Korea, and she had continued to rise in power and success. Her reputation as a successful businesswoman and philanthropist had only grown, and invitations to exclusive events were a common occurrence. Tonight, she found herself at a private party where the elite of the business and entertainment worlds would gather to socialise and network.

As Nabi mingled with the crowd, her heart sank when she realised that Key, a member of SHINee, was also in attendance. He introduced himself as a long-time fan, and Nabi couldn't help but feel a pang of unease. Key's association with Minho and Sooya made her wary of revealing her true identity.

However, as they engaged in conversation about fashion and shared interests, they exchanged numbers. Nabi was genuinely grateful for the opportunity to make a new friend in Key, and she was determined to keep her identity a secret from Minho and Sooya, who might also be at the event.

As the night continued, Nabi found herself mingling with various individuals, many of whom were looking to network for the benefit of their businesses. The room was abuzz with conversations and laughter, and Nabi felt a sense of contentment in her newfound social circle.

But then, across the room, she saw him—Lee Soo Hyuk, her fiancé, the model and actor known for his striking features and top-tier fashion sense. Her heart swelled with love and excitement at the sight of him, and she couldn't wait to be in his arms.

However, her joy was short-lived as a familiar voice from behind her exclaimed in excitement and awe, drawing her attention away from Soo Hyuk. The voice belonged to none other than Kim Sooya, the person from her past she had hoped to avoid at all costs.

"He's coming towards us! Omg, how do I look?" Sooya's voice gushed with admiration as she awaited the arrival of the handsome Lee Soo Hyuk.

Nabi's heart dropped as she realised the implications of Sooya's presence at the party. The woman who had tormented her in the past was now seemingly infatuated with her fiancé, and Nabi had no choice but to navigate this unexpected encounter with grace and composure.

Soo Hyuk's unexpected arrival and affectionate gesture took Nabi by surprise. As he wrapped his arm around her waist and whispered sweetly in her ear, her heart raced. "Hey, baby," he murmured before planting a tender kiss on her cheek. The intimate moment between them sent a ripple of whispers through the room.

To everyone at the party, it was news that Nabi and Soo Hyuk were engaged. Their relationship had been a well-kept secret, known only to a select few, including Changmin and his wife. The revelation that they were a couple sent shockwaves through the room.

Sooya, who had been watching the scene unfold with a mixture of disappointment and envy, rolled her eyes in frustration. Nabi, seizing the opportunity, put on a performance for her former tormentor. With a condescending smile, she turned toward Sooya and said, "Oh, sorry. I apologise for our behaviour. I didn't see you behind us. Sorry."

Nabi punctuated her apology with a slight bow, and with Soo Hyuk's hand in hers, they gracefully walked away to socialise with the other guests. Satisfaction filled Nabi's heart as she left Sooya behind, and the rest of the night was filled with joy and laughter. She revelled in the knowledge that she had asserted her dominance over the person who had once made her life a living hell.
