His soul flew from his body hitting the ground limp his last thoughts turned to his brother I'm sorry Mario Luigi said before his tear filled eyes closed forever the younger Mario Brother knew that his older twin would be heartbroken.
Luigi just hoped Mario would get over that heartbreak with time but Luigi seriously doubted that Mario could get over the heartbreak of loosing his brother his best and only freind.
Toad had been looking for both his friends Mario and Luigi trembling toad stepped into the room in Dracula's castle seeing a pair of legs he took trembling footsteps screaming once he saw it was Luigi.
His scream caused Mario to run into the room dropping to his knees he crawled over to his little brother gathering his body into his arms
Luigi you okay? Answer me! Don't you-a dare do this to me brother! ANSWER ME!" Mario's face contorted with terror for Luigi's life as he desperately shook his younger twin brother's body. Yet Luigi did not stir. His eyes were closed, his body cold. His chest was still. Mario frantically checked Luigi's neck for a pulse. But there was none.
Mario's mind began to go blank as the truth began to sink in. "L- Luigi?" He whispered.This can't be happening... this can't be happening.... But it did his little brother was dead.
Mario burst out into tears as he held onto his brother for dear life
They made their way back to the Mushroom Kingdom Luigi in his brothers arms
It... it was all a dream.... Mario thought as his heart beat in his chest. Relief came over him, yet he still trembled from the nightmare. It all felt so real... It was real at one point. The fear, the sight of his brother's body....
Wait. His brother.
LUIGI ! Mario shouted as tears streamed down his cheeks his chest tightened in pain, and his heart beat irregularly and rapidly. "Where are you? Dove sei fratellone?"
From outside the door Mario heard running footsteps coming twords his room before his bedroom door burst open to reveal Luigi. His hair was unkempt and he had striped pajamas similar to Mario's, except in green. "Mario?" He said, his voice frantic. "Mario, are you alright?"
When Luigi got a glimpse of his panicked older brother, his worry only grew. "Mario! Brother what's wrong?" He ran towards Mario, determined to see what made him so frightened. When Mario got close to him, his voice grew softer. "Mario... what's-a the matt-"
He was cut off abruptly by a tight hug from his older brother, who sobbed loudly and shivered violently. Luigi felt Mario's tears drip onto his chest and saw Mario's shoulders heave as he cried.
"I-it was-a so s-s-scary... you were... y-y-you w-were..." Mario hiccupped through sobs. " I-I was-a so s-s-scared! He..." you... were
Luigi laid down next to his brother wrapping his brother in his arms so Mario was on top of his brother's chest his ear pressed against his little brothers heart just listening falling asleep to the steady drum of his brother Luigi's heartbeat.
I'm telling you, Nothing can hurt us as long as we're together Luigi said quietly before he fell asleep to the soft snores of his older brother but it would be the next day that things would take a turn and not for the better
