Angry that his original plan to get rid of his enemy dressed in green failed Count Bleck decided to take matters into his own hands.

Mario definitely heard the snap of bone

"Luigi you have to jump!" Peach shouted to her freind

There was no way the leg would hold his weight on its own, let alone bounce him up 6 feet in the air. he knew when a leg was out of commission.

The green plumber swore something in Italian , then seeing no other option stepped back a couple of half-steps for the jump.

Count Bleck was about to strike again, but before the hands hit their marks the younger Mario brother was already jumping.

On his bad leg.

Mario could tell that his brother wasn't going to make that jump

But before Luigi could make it a foot Count Bleck grabbed Luigi by the collar

It's the princess Peaches or your beloved brother Count Bleck said, chuckling evilly as he looked into the terrified eyes of his enemy dressed in red before throwing Luigi and if Mario didn't catch him before he could fall any further Luigi would be a plumber pancake now meaning he would be dead.

This wasn't supposed to end like this!

He shouldn't be choosing between the one he was beginning to love and his little brother Mario swallowed hard as he broke down This is wrong! ALL wrong!

Let me go, Luigi said shakily. I won't, Mario replied. Let. Me. go, Luigi repeated his bottom lip trembling as he looked at his twin brother with teary eyes. I'm not letting you go! Mario shouted at his little twin brother.

Don't you dare let go Lu

The world, Brooklyn, and the Mushroom Kingdom need a hero; they don't need a coward an embarrassment like me Luigi cried, squeezing his eyes shut tightly before he continued you're not bringing me down. I'm the one that's doing that to you Luigi cried and for that I am so so so sorry the younger Mario brother finished letting his hands slip from his brother's iron like grip.

Lu ! Mario cried pulling Princess Peach back up before he ran trying to find another way down. His brother's body was broken as Mario fell to his knees before crawling over to his lifeless brother

I'm so sorry Lu Mario cried squeezing his eyes shut. Silently, he leant over, resting his head on his brother's unmoving chest, finally letting the sobs break free and the tears run down his face. He knew that everyone must be staring at him, but in that moment, he couldn't care less.

His brother was gone.

Mario I'm so sorry Toad said feeling tears prick his own eyes at the loss of his freind. Even after death claimed him, Luigi still didn't blame his older brother for anything.

As he looked at his brother he could tell that his brother's leg was broken that was definitely the reason his little brothers jump was so weak that's why he wouldn't have made it.

Lu don't do this! Don't leave me alone in this world please Lu! I don't want to be alone Mario said shaking his brother by the shoulders before he gave up going back to holding his brother's broken body in his arms

You're not bringing me down you could never Lu Mario cried. You weren't a coward Mario paused to take a shaky breath you never were. His bottom lip quivered as he continued you were much much more than that Lu you were and always will be my hero Mario cried putting his forehead against his brothers.

There's nothing I can do nothing I can say except I'm so sorry Lu Mario cried squeezing his eyes shut tightly as he cradled the younger Mario brother in his arms.

Rocking back and forth with the broken body in his arms Mario screamed letting his heartbreak known to the whole world. All Mario could see was red.

Without you....I'm not strong. They say we're stronger together..." "But without you here Lu, I feel like....I'm nothing...without you, you're breaking my heart without you here Lu I'm not whole "We might be tough when we fight individually, but we're more powerful as a duo...and yet...when one of us falls the other falls.

Lu nothing can hurt us as long as we're together remember ? Mario took a deep shaking breath as he looked at his brother's broken body in his arms and the tears continued to fall. "So...for my sake... you need to wake up! Please, Lu! Just wake up!" "....I'm nothing...without you, and that's the truth

Mario just laid there sobbing. He just couldn't take it anymore. His brother had to wake up. He just had to. If he lost him, it would destroy him it already was, destroying him from the inside out.

But Luigi didn't move he remained as still as the death that claimed him

Mario didn't want to leave but he knew what he needed and that was revenge, something he absolutely craved in this moment Count Bleck had killed his sweet kind loving brother Luigi didn't deserve this

The light in Mario's eyes was gone replaced by anger, hatred and greif. No one had loved Luigi more than his twin brother. The brothers had shared a bond unlike any other

Please, Lu! Just wake up!" Don't leave me alone!" Mario shouted the anger and hatred in Mario's once bright eyes had scared both Toad and Peach more than they liked to admit and they both knew just who that anger and hatred was pointed at.

Before anyone could stop him Mario ran he was going to kill Count Bleck and no one could change his mind.

Peach knew that Luigi's death caused Mario to snap he wasn't in his right mindset but Tomorrow Mr.L will rise But what the blackened heart failed to realize was Luigi's closed eyes. So innocent, so kind, so helpful, so encouraging, so loving so disbelievingly good.

So beautifully blue. Forever cloaked in the color of hope.
