----------------------

Act one; The past

The cold night air washed onto the face of the small girl who was staring out the window, her fiery hair tied up in a bun, her dress black and tears staining her face. Her father had died a few months ago and all her mother could do was drink now. With a sigh Juro climbed into bed and pulled the covers up to her chin, not mothering to close the window.

Even since her father had died she had been unable to sleep through the night but that all changed when Aka, her imaginary friend entered the picture. Aka would take care of Juro and Serio without an issue while their mother was black out drunk, Aka would bathe them, feed them, read them to sleep but would only cuddle with Juro, the one who would wake up screaming almost every night.

She would sing the small girl back to sleep and stay by her bedside but would always be gone before the sun rose, sadly the woman with strips covering her had disappeared when Juro turned seven.

With a sigh Rengoku Juro shook her head and stood, she was going to the carnival with Uzii and Muta that afternoon after school, she shouldn't be caught up daydreaming about the past. The bell rang and everyone rushed out of the classroom, Muta dragging Juro along "Calm down Muta-kun!" Juro called with a laugh.

"I wanna get to Uzii ani quickly so we can goooo!!" Muta called back, dragging the woman with fiery hair along the hall's until they came across a tall woman with long white hair and pinky-red eyes. Muta had light pink hair which faded into a light green, the boy had always liked long and colourful hair.

"Uzii!! Let's go!" The smallest of the three was jumping up and down like he was about to teleport them somewhere, sadly that never happened.

"Calm down Muta, we need to put our things back in the dorms before we go out." Uzii said with a calm smile on her face "plus we need to look extremely flashy!" and there it was, the only reason the girl actually wanted to go back to the dorms, with a sigh Juro followed her friends, they were more like her siblings then anything.

Act two; "Aka..?"

The carnival wasn't anything special, it was the same as every year, as always Juro was left behind as Muta ran off to find his girlfriend and Uzii ran off to find herself a boyfriend.. Or three. Juro shook her head and walked around, getting a few snacks every now and then, maybe she would bring her younger sister tomorrow since she was going to be in town for a week.

"That would be nice." she mumbled to herself before taking a bite of a donut on a stick, she had no clue why they would do this but at least she would be able to carry some home for her sister easier.

"Ani!!" a little boy yelled from at the ferris wheel, which Juro was passing by, pointing at the food in her hands "I want one."

"I don't have the money.."

Juro walked over and handed the child one of the last three sticks she had "be careful it's still hot." with that she walked off, okay now to keep the rest for her younger sister.

The feeling of eyes on Juros back never left since she had entered the festival, something was telling her to turn around and she did, ending up face to face with Aka but Aka was with a small male child, the one she had given a donut on a stick to only a few hours ago. "Aka..?"

The voice came out half there half not, as if it came out while dying in her throat. She shook her head, watching the woman's head snap over to her, it was Aka, but that's impossible. Juro turned on her heel and walked away, she was going to go home early.

Getting into her dorm room after venturing to give her younger sister the food she had saved for her was the most soothing thing she had experienced before. She plopped down on her bed and relaxed, a cold wind blowing over her. "Didn't I close that before I left..?"

"You did, but I thought you'd be okay with me just coming in." a voice sounded, closing the window and all the blinds in the room, it sounded like Aka "I'm sorry I left for such a long time I've only just gotten back from a job.." A hand ran through the humans hair.

"How have the nightmares been?"

"They got worse after you left.."

Aka hummed and nodded, climbing over the human and laying on the covers "shall I scare the nightmares away again then?"
