A nervous Kerry patted down her black, pleated skirt, hoping that everything would finally be just fine and she would actually be able to stay cool as a cucumber. The light redhead really couldn't have her biggest secret exposed on the very first day of school. The chocolate eyed teen slid into her 1968 black Mustang and quickly checked her soft, wavy hair and gentle, natural make up in the rearview mirror.

She smiled, but was met with only a sad, tiny curve. It made her look plain, and boring.

Good.

Because she didn't want any attention. She'd had enough of it for all the problems she'd caused everywhere else she lived. Now she just needed a new start, a new beginning, a new life.

Or she would have to move again.

And if that meant being absolutely alone with no one this time, then that was okay.

~~~
The first thing that happened when she drove into the school parking lot, was violently curse herself. Of course, there'd be rich kids with brand new cars of every colour. So despite having an old car that she thought would go unnoticed, as classic as it was, there were eyes on her practically immediately.
Kerry had even dressed as ordinarily as she was thought possible for this decade.
Her tucked in skirt, fell just below her knees and a short sleeved, button up, collared white blouse with a boring black cardigan and black ballet shoes.
Maybe she should have gone with earthly tones instead?
Or wide, thick glasses?
Dyed her hair?
Thick, heavy make up?
The redhead let out a slightly panicked breath from her nose, debating whether or not she should just get back in her car, but then she just hurried through the lot with her head down, not noticing a trio of girls with their eyes on her or the fact she accidentally brushed against one of them as she rushed by.
Bonnie gasped loudly, snatching the attention of both her best friends. Their eyes widened at her shaken expression. The brunette witch had never looked so terrified and she had stared down Elijah, an Original Vampire.
"Bon?" Caroline tentatively asked her, reaching out to grasp her hand in comfort, but the Bennett flinched with a whimper leaving her throat.
"Right," Elena gently took the girl by the elbows, slowly directing her to her car, "I'm going to take her to Stefan's and see what Damon can make of this."
The blonde frowned slightly, not wanting that particular Salvatore involved, but hesitantly nodded. This was about Bonnie, "I'll keep an eye on the girl."
"Okay."
~~~

Kerry immediately sped through the halls, dodging the curious glances of her new classmates and teachers, searching for the nearest girl's bathroom.

The light redhead burst through the door of it then locked the whole of the girls' bathroom not allowing anyone to enter. She winced when her eyes caught the mirror, the person staring back at her grinning savagely.

'Hello, my sweet, sweet Kerry.'

"Kaz," she stared at her mirror image... but... not.

The person in front of her looked almost feral, with that murderous glint in her fierce, emerald green eyes compared to Kerry's chocolate brown gaze. The person in front of her had blood red hair that was so different from her warm, almost copper hair... Kaz's features were sharper and more defined than hers, all the while, the person in the mirror was someone who would rip you to pieces without a second thought.

'Are you going to put me in your back pocket again, precious? Not going to let me out to play?' the person pouted childishly, her intense features turning more theatrical and... if someone were to fall under her 'spell' sexy.

"You don't play, Kaz, you hurt people," Kerry murmured, almost scared, as she put down her school bag, searching for the small vial that she needed to make and take every single day without fault, "If you get out like last time, we have to move again."

Kaz raised an eyebrow before she smirked evilly, 'But vampires and werewolves are crawling around this place,' the girl gasped dramatically, placing a hand over her mouth, 'Oh my...'

The teen paused and looked up at her... 'alter ego,' "How do you know that?"

Her smirk widened, now almost playful, 'I can smell the death and feel their aura. Oh,' Kaz shuddered, her teeth bared practically threateningly, 'I'm so excited.'

Kerry unfroze and almost dumped all her belongings from her school bag onto the floor, frantically looking for the small vial before she finally grabbed hold of it. She let out a sigh of relief and gulped the contents down her throat.

'Don't you worry, my sweet Kerry,' Kaz purred softly, before winking at her as she started to fade in the mirror, 'I'll protect you. I'll always protect you.'

Finally, Kerry could see herself in front of her, but she looked down at the sink as her lip trembled, a tear falling down her cheek, "In all the wrong ways."

The light redhead sighed, shoulders slumping as she closed her soft earth coloured eyes and tried to gather her wits back so she could begin her first day at Mystic Falls High.

Damon, was originally enjoying his peace with a nice glass of bourbon, rose an eyebrow as Elena abruptly burst through the front door with a seemingly paralyzed witch.

Judgy was stumbling over her feet as she appeared almost completely overwhelmed and intimidated. He'd never seen it before. Even when facing him and his brother, Bon Bon still had that stubborn spark of 'I'm gonna kick your ass or die trying!'

So what the hell had caused this?

The Salvatore watched the brunette help the witch onto the couch and it was a damn struggle as she kept slipping to one or the other side, leaving Elena to prop Bonnie up with the cushions.

"So?"

The girl who'd stolen his heart spun around and sighed, her shoulders slumping, "We don't know... A new girl had pulled into the carpark and Bon's eyes were immediately on her-"

Damon pursed his lips, mentally groaning.

"-and despite her plain, dressed down clothes, the girl was absolutely gorgeous. She then brushed past Bon and..." Elena waved over her best friend, "This happened. Care stayed to keep on her in case something happened."

"Great," the older Salvatore brother threw back the rest of his drink, "one MORE thing to worry about."

The Gilbert sighed.

"...two souls..."

The two turned to look at the witch, who was now rocking herself back and forth.

"...two souls..."

"Bonnie?"

"...she has... two souls..."
