three

Kerry shook her head to rid herself of that memory. That one was a definite nightmare and months after the occurrence, the redhead experienced true fear of what would and could happen if Kaz were to take full control again.

It's only happened now three times, but three times is too many.

You won't admit to yourself that those times were moments where you were scared, my sweet, sweet Kerry, on the verge of such crippling. Kerry felt Kaz's tinkling giggle ripple through her body, You don't want to say that I saaaaaved you.

The three hundred and eighty six years gritted her teeth before her focus was thrown off when the blonde beside her, bumped her hip against hers and tightened her arm around Kerry's.

"Here we are, our first class. You can sit next to me so if you need to catch up, I whisper the answers to you." Caroline's face lit up with a brilliant smile, almost as if the girl was a lightbulb hiding as a human.

Kerry could tell this vampire was young, perhaps less than a year old, but gave her props for keeping a handle on her bloodlust. Most took at least ten, maybe fifteen.

The little youngling wants to keep an eye on us. We've distressed her pet witch, who has now Houdini'ed away. Now she's curious.

'A curious vampire is a dangerous vampire.' The redhead whispered back. Truly, she shouldn't be talking to the voices inside her head. It's a symptom of psychosis.

But... there's no one else to talk to who understands and just as long as Kerry keeps Kaz at bay until she can create a new tonic for herself... hopefully everything will be fine.

Create as many potions and tonics and medicines as you want, my sweet, I will always be here.

Her eyes watered, hopelessness squeezing her heart like a vice. She knew that, but she refused to accept it. A single tear trailed down her cheek, until Kerry quickly wiped it away, not wanting any attention from anyone.

Caroline dragged her into the first class and sat her into the chair next to her own like a child.

Having been to a few high schools already, this class and its low grade teaching of the art of Mathematics, Kerry zoned out and if not for the 'subtle' glances of the blonde newborn... Miss Jekyll might have stood up and pushed the teacher aside and taught the goddamn class herself.

Thoroughly disappointed, the bubbly Caroline reattached herself to Kerry and steered - dragged - her towards their next class, Chemistry. At least here, the science prodigy she was, is and will always, can shine through.

But... once more... the lighter redhead of the beings present in her body, wanted to bang her head against a wall... the students were merely studying plants. PLANTS?! PHOTOSYNTHESIS?!?!

Has she suddenly regressed and been placed in a primary school?

Kerry simply ignored everything and sat at her desk with her face buried in her hands with Kaz laughing at her in her head.

~~~
The British born 'teen' was thankful for Caroline as the blonde led her towards the mess hall or whatever it was called where the students ate their lunch.
