"Welcome, Welcome as we celebrate the anniversary, and third Quarter Quell, of the Hunger Games. As always, ladies first." Sage didn't waste anytime as the people who were being reaped knew what was going on. Annie Cresta stood beside Meara. Mags stood on Meara's other side. Meara took a deep breath. No matter the outcome, a smile had to be on her face. No matter what. Sage walked over to the glass bowl. Three paper slips were inside. One had Meara's name. The chances of her being pulled was scarily high. Sage walked back to the microphone. "The female tribute from District 4..." Sage paused, opening the paper slip. "Annie Cresta." Sage said, no happiness in her voice. Annie immediately broke out into sobs. Meara fought the urge to raise her hand. To say she volunteered. "Annie Cresta, please join me." Sage repeated. Annie went to take a step. Besides Meara, Mags also took a step.

"I volunteer." She raised her hand, beating Mags to it. "I volunteer." Meara repeated. Annie's head snapped to Meara. She mouthed 'Thank you' over and over again. Meara walked over and next to stage. "Our female tribute for District 4, Meara Rivers. Now, for the male tribute." Sage walked over to the glass bowl, pulling out a paper slip. She forced a smile onto her face as she walked back to the microphone. "The male tribute for District 4..." Sage paused, opening the slip. "Finnick Odair." Sage said. Sage sadly looked over to Finnick. Meara, though she hated to admit it, got close to the District 4 escort when she went on our victor's tour. Finnick, being who he is, had a huge smile, which Meara could tell was fake, as he walked next to Sage. His hand was in the air, waving.

"The tributes from District 4, Meara Rivers and Finnick Odair." Sage put her hands on their shoulders. Meara couldn't look in the direction of her mother. Sure, her mother had lost herself after Meara was reaped for her games, but it was still too hard to look. Before any more words were exchanged, Meara was suddenly grabbed by the arm. The peacekeepers pulled her and Finnick back. "Wait- Wait, Meara!" Annie yelled. Meara glanced at Annie for a second. She still hadn't known if she made the right choice or not. "We don't get to say goodbye?" Finnick questioned. "New plan, straight to the train." The guard informed. Meara looked down, not wanting to look at Finnick.

"Finnick! Finnick!" Meara cheered as she watched Finnick skillfully moved his trident around in the water. Finnick grinned at Meara. "How did you get so good with using a trident?" Meara asked, stepping into the swallow water. "Trained." Finnick casually responded.
