Chapter 22: Isle of Armor

Altyrei's POV

"Wake up sleepy head" I heard Gloria call me

"You're finally awake" Lillie said as I rubbed the sleep off my eyes

"I felt like I slept for two years" I joked, getting to a more comfortable sitting position

Outside the window I can see we were still moving underground towards the Isle of Armor

"We'll be arriving our destination shortly" Evie explained

"The Isle is connected via underground railway, first time visitors are adviced to take it as to not get lost due to how expansive it is"

We were currently sitting at the first class seat of the train heading to the Isle of Armor

Evie assured us that it was fine and the chairman wouldn't mind

After a few more minutes passing by, the train finally exited the underground tunnel and outside was the sea that spanned between Galar and the Isle of Armor

Moon excitingly pressed her face against the window looking at the passing scenery

Her girlfriend Lillie, insisting Moon to sit back down

Evie stood right by the door, ready to answer whatever question or request we might have

"Look! I have never seen that pokemon before!" Moon exclaimed

Outside a blue bird pokemon flew beside the train

It suddenly dived under water and came back up with a fish pokemon lodged in its beak

"Look! It caught a fish pokemon!"

"Thats a Cramorant" Evie spoke "They're quite common in the Galar region, and the pokemon in its mouth is called Arokkuda, their favorite diet"

Moon was at awe seeing the bird pokemon fly away to finish its lunch

Lillie was also amazed but from the looks on her face she seemed saddened for the poor fish pokemon

After a few more minutes, the train finally stopped at the Isle of Armor's Train Station

The first thing we noticed was the fresh sea air blowing into the station, giving us the feeling of excitement to get out

"Allow me to formally welcome you to the Isle of Armor" Evie greeted moving ahead of the group

She led us to the outside of the station and we were greeted by a large blue scenery coupled with a bunch of bird pokemon flying in the skies and fish pokemon swimming in the waters

There were also a bunch of pink colored pokemon just laying by the beach which I recognized were Slowpoke, yet they had a yellow head and tail tip

"Are those what Slowpokes in Galar look like?" Lillie asked

Evie nodded then proceeded to explain that these Slowpoke have a different diet in Galar, which causes their tails to taste spicier

"It also causes them to have moments of extreme sharpness from time to time"

After Evie said that, a Slowpoke immediately started to run extremely quickly away from us and into the wilderness

Enough to say, it surprised Me Moon and Lillie

"Look at that little guy go!" Moon exclaimed

I turned to Gloria to see her reaction, but her attention was to her pokedex and she was muttering stuff to herself

"Gloria?" I called out to her

"Hmm..? Oh don't mind me" she said "I'm just thinking what I should do for the next gym"

Right... I forgot that the next gym was Water and Gloria had nothing against them save for that pokemon she got from that lady, but given how it looked it was nothing more but a baby pokemon

"There is a Pokemon Dojo just up ahead you can visit, It is headed by Master Mustard the former Champion and master of Leon" Evie suggested

"Really? He sounds strong" Moon beamed upon hearing what Evie said

"Shall we head off?"

With that, Evie led us across the Isle of Armor

As we walked I took in the vast area of the isle

Watching bird pokemon fly in the sky, wild pokemon going about their daily lives, two purple and pink colored people arguing in the distance...

"As I said you vile woman, There is no need for people like you to stand in such a prosperous dojo as this"

A blonde guy wearing a tophat with floating pokeballs yelled

"Vile..? Seems to me that nerds like you are even less fit to join a dojo, aren't all of you more keen in popping off on some poor sod voicing their opinions on some blog or something?" The girl with a butterfly hairpiece fired back

It seemed like they were unaware, or more accurately, completely ignoring the group of people slowing walking up to them arguing

We walked past them and they still haven't acknowledged us so we just went into the dojo

"Who were those guys?" Lillie asked, clearly wary of the two

"Some students of the dojo, I guess?" Her girlfriend answered

"HE/SHE IS NOT STUDENT OF THIS DOJO" Both of them yelled

Awkward silence filled the air before the man cleared his throat

"It seems that you all are not aware of my prestigious background, my name is Avery, the best trainer of this here dojo"

"..."

"..."

"..."

"..."

"...who?"

His world seem to shatter upon hearing we didn't know who he was

"Hahahahahaha, ofcourse they wouldn't hear about some loser nobody nerd like you, they probably are more familiar of the beautiful and elegant Klara" the girl said full of pride

"No, we didn't"

"..."

"..."

"..."

"...who?"

The same world shattering effect hapoened to Klara as well

"Ahem... It would seem like we need to educate these ignorant fools of my greatness, don't you think so vile woman?" Avery began

"Yes... though I'm merely just going to teach them how sharp a rose's thorns can be" Klara added, preparing a pokeball

Why do I get sucked in to these kinds of situations?

Ending it there for now, motivation waning but might be able to write some more during the holidays
