Chapter 5: Rivals? or Friends?

I noticed the title of the previous chapter was a little misdirecting and I don't intend to change it, I always suck at titles and I rarely make drafts so I always end up writing whatever I just think of on the spot

Anyways on with the story!

Gloria's POV

I was relaxing on the cafe area of the pokemon center as I waited for Raven, the Rookidee I recently caught, to get healed

Even though he's a new member of my team I intend to train him a little bit before meeting up with Leon and the professor

I suddenly remembered that strange girl holding a Caterpie when I was catching Raven

"She had a Sobble with her, didn't she?" I asked myself

If I remembered right Sobble was one of the starters Leon was giving to me and Hop

And how he said it be stuck with someone

"Could she be the one he meant?"

"Gloria? Your pokemon has finished healing" called the nurse from the counter

I went and took Raven's ball and thanked her before exiting the center and releasing the bird pokemon

"How you feeling Raven?" I asked it but it just seemed confused

"That's the name I'm giving you, if you don't mind?"

It seemed to have understood and flew up and landed on my head, almost toppling my beret

"I want to train you a bit before we get going I hope you're ready"

Raven just chirped with determination and we made our way back to route one

Altyrei's POV

I later learned that the nearby village was called Postwick and the path between there and Wedgehurst was known as route one

Considering this wasn't where I live I wouldn't have known that

As of now I was waiting by the purple house which I was told the Professor's lab

The Caterpie I caught wanted to rest on my head so I allowed it to and it was very much asleep

I would go inside but I wasn't sure if it really was the lab and so waited for Leon

I at least hope he know where it is or I'll be waiting for hours

Eventually I noticed the champion walking towards me with his Charizard following behind

I guess it was actually leading Leon instead of following him

"Yo there Altyrei! How was your first day here in Wedgehurst?" He asked

"I was fine to say the least, and I also caught a Caterpie" I answered as I pointed to the sleeping Bug Pokemon on my head

Leon seemed to examine it before saying

"Was this Caterpie glowing when you caught it?"

I nodded careful not to disturbed its sleep

"That's amazing! Its quite rare to find a Caterpie out here, let alone one with an aura!"

Leon then explained to me that the wild pokemon here in Galar has a chance to have an aura around them and they tend to be stronger than their usual species

I felt proud and happy from Leon's praise

"Ah! Its you!" A voice yelled from behind Leon

I looked over and saw that it was the girl from earlier pointing towards me
