Audrey's POV

"what?" Hayes asked with a smile.

"nothing." I muttered. "it was an accident. sorry." I honestly thought he was Jacob. I think I was hallucinating.

"ok sure. we should go back to the stage." Hayes said, changing the subject.

"ok, just don't tell anyone what happened ok?" I asked, sticking up my pinky.

"promise, babe." Hayes said with a wink and he linked our pinkies. I slapped his chest and he laughed.

I decided to avoid him all day. Jacob can never find out, but I should be honest right? no. he would hate me.

the show started mahogany blasted the music. I danced with Hailey and Aaliyah.

suddenly I felt arms wrap around my small waist. I turned around and then lips hit my cheek.

"hi rey." Jacob said with a cheeky smile.

"hi Jacob!" I said. I hugged him and he put his hand on my head and his other hand on my back.

"are you ok?" Jacob whispered. I nodded and smiled. I feel so guilty. I started to twirl my hair and my hands started to sweat. I had to tell someone.

just as Jacob was about to put his arm around me, I said, "I'll be right back." I ran to Hailey and dragged her to the bathroom.

"what's wrong??" she asked me. I looked down and then back at her. I felt a sudden sting in my eye and those familiar tears streamed down my cheek. I slid down the wall and stayed there.

Hailey hugged me and held me tight. "Audrey, stop. tell me what's wrong." I looked up and spilled my guts.

"I'm telling you I felt like I was with Jacob. not Hayes. I don't like Hayes anymore." I said, truthfully. she nodded and left the bathroom.

"what the...?" I muttered. I got up and was about to open the door when it was opened for me. Hailey was there with Jacob. she dragged him into the bathroom and nodded her head.

"Audrey, oh my gosh. are you alright??" he asked me. that's when I broke down for real. he didn't deserve me, he was so nice and loyal.

"I'm sorry Jacob. I'm sorry." I said. he hugged me and lifted my face to his.

"Audrey, it's alright. just tell me what happened. I will be here for you no matter what and I will also love you no matter what." Jacob said.

I nodded and said, "just know I'm sorry." I then told him what happened. he kept a straight face and listened to me. which made me cry more.

"I thought it was you. I don't know whatI'm sorry." I kept saying to him. I put my hands on my face and Jacob pulled them down and looked into my eyes.

"it's fine, Audrey." Jacob said. he seemed to have no words. I shook my head and tried to cover my face again but Jacob wouldn't let go of my hands.

he kissed my cheek and then hugged me. "yes, I'm upset. but I know it's not your fault. Hayes was pressuring you, I understand but if you love him then please go be with him. but know that I love you so much, Audrey" Jacob finally said.

I shook my head. "no!! I love you Jacob! not Hayes. it was an accident." I said.

he stroked my cheek with my thumb and then got up. "come on. we need to get back out there." he looked away and walked out.

"why did you bring him in here??" I asked Hailey. "he deserved to know." Hailey said sternly.

"I hope your happy. Jacob hates me now." I said. she apologized and walked out. I washed my face and decided to go up to my room. I opened the door and accidentally bumped into Shawn.

"oh sorry." I said, trying not to make eye contact.

"Audrey? are you ok?" Shawn asked. I looked at his face and he actually looked concerned.

"no but I'll be fine." I said, softly. Shawn and I used to be super close last year. I would tell him everything. but now, we barely talk and it's awkward. and he got sooo much hotter since last year. just like all the boys did 😅

he put his hands on my shoulders, "Audrey you can talk about it with me. you do remember that we were besties right?" Shawn asked. the way he said besties made me laugh.

he smiled and lead me to my room. I opened the door and we walked inside. I began to tell him things but I quickly regretted it since he kept making faces.

when I finished he just nodded. "well if Jacob doesn't believe you that it was an accident he doesn't deserve you. you deserve someone special." Shawn Dias with a smile.

"I'm not so sure anymore. but thanks for listening Shawn." I said.

"it's true Audrey. everyone makes mistakes and if no one can understand that your human then they honestly shouldn't be allowed to be with."

I sighed and nodded. "you're right Shawn."

"when am I not?" Shawn asked, sarcastically. he smirked and then laughed at his own joke.

I laughed and said, "all the time, actually, and I'm being serious."

"thanks Audrey." he gave me a hug. he let go but he hands were on my arms.
