Sleep Paralysis (Slight trigger warnings. Nightmares)

       (TW: NIGHTMARES, BEING SO AFRAID HEART ALMOST STOPS) 


    You've always had sleep paralysis, even before you met Moon.  You've told him about the ones from your past and about how it's triggered by having a vivid nightmare.  Like tonight.

You were floating in some sort of pitch dark void. Voices all around you but none made any sense. White chalk board like child looking drawings of monster faces swirled around you. Meanwhile, while you slept you forced your hands to keep moving, you wiggled your toes, fingers, tried to remind yourself to breath as this bout of nightmares leading to sleep paralysis took over you.

Moon walked in, his scanners picking up your rapid and faltering heartbeat. He ran over to you and sat you up calling your name. He gently shook you, trying to get you to wake up. Only when one of Moon's feet caught a part of the blankets at the foot of the bed making it tug did you wake. "NOPE! NOPE! NUH-UH! NO!" You jumped out of Moon's arms, whom you'd yet to realize was even there.  He chased after you. "STARLIGHT WAIT!"  He called out in a panic, your body shook as fear took hold of you. "Starlight, It's okay, it's just me. Breath. You're okay now." Moon held you in his arms and rubbed your back gently as you cried. You told Moon what you saw as he comforted you.  "That sounded scary. But you're safe now."   You sniffled. "It was like lucid dreaming, but instead of a dream, it was that weird chalkboard nightmare world." You told him. Moon got you some herbal tea to calm your nerves. Lavender, it was your favorite. "It's going to be okay my love. I promise, I'll chase away any bad dreams or sleep paralysis that you have."  Moon planted a gentle kiss on your forehead. "Are you ready to go back to sleep?" You shook your head."Not yet, could we maybe watch a movie?" Moon nodded. "Sure firefly."
