Chapter Twenty Six

Chapter 26

Kayli's POV

"You know I'm not your actual sister, right?"

"Of course," I reply. "I just think it's cool to know someone out there looks and acts just like me."

It has only been two days since we met. Her name was Darcine, and her alliance was Genivette and Karsley, and my companions.

No one has died since yesterday, the arena lost four people.

"This game is going way too slow." I remark. Genivette is the first to answer, "I know right? Why can't we just get out of here already!"

The rest say 'yeah' together.

"I never showed you the place," Darcine realizes. "Why not now?"

"I'll show them," Genivette gets up and opens a closet. "Look in here!" She grabs something from a shelf inside it, then Emila goes over, being followed by Rancine, then me.

"What?" Emila asks.

A moment later she makes a loud grunting sound and steps backwards clumsily on a bed. Her hand was pushing against her stomach.

I move her hand. I gasp.

"Why did you do this to her?" I exclaim.

I avoid the knife flung at me, and bounded to the closet. I swiftly pull out a knife and jab it to the left of Genivette's chest.

"Come on, we'll go to the hospital." I instruct her and the others. She reaches to take the knife out.

"No--you'll just loose blood faster," I gently take away her hand. "But it hurts..." She moans. I sigh.

"It's for the best."

The girls and I carry Emila as fast as we can to an abandoned car. Karsley told me they leave the keys in the cup-holder.

They lay Emila softly in the back seat and get inside. Darcine and Karsley and I in the front and Rancine in the back on the floor

"Just breathe as well as you can," she demands.

Karsley slams on the gas pedal and drives to the hospital.

We arrive there and rush Emila in.

I wail, "Please please fix her, please!"

"Room 009," he speaks In a rushed tone.

We hurry to the room, and slide Emila to the hospital bed. She was still, but barely, conscious.

"Leave, I'll fix her." The doctor orders. We jog out of the room and sit down.

At that moment, I realize, that she has a baby in that stomach.
