Kayli's POV
It's three nights after I met Harry near the fence. I was sleeping, quietly.
But the sleeping did not last long.
"FIRE!!!!" Rancine screeches. I jolt upright, hitting my head on the top of the book drop-off-place.
"Where is it?!"
"In the back! Help the others!"
"I-I'll warn them!" I yell and run off.
"Fire! Fire!"
The fire was close, so I shake and carry them. Emila isn't moving when I set her down.
"Emila?" I look around frantically for Rancine. "Rancine!"
"What?!" She screams back.
"Get the others out! Emila is too weak! I'll grab her!"
I lift up Emila, and carry her out the door and to the side of the building where the fire isn't with Rancine and Darcine.
"It's my time," she whispers.
"No! No, it can't be!" Rancine bends over her.
"The s-" she's cut of with a cough, " the smoke is too much. But you were a great friend. Goodbye."
"I will sing to you, before you go. I know you always compliment my singing.. I know your favorite song." Rancine sniffles.
"I-I'd love that.. Thank you.." Emila trails off.
Then she starts singing in an amazing voice.
"Shut the door, turn the light off

I cannot hide this even though I try

Her voice cracks at the last line, Emila is dead.
"You were the best friend I could ever have..."
She lays down her head on Emila's stomach.
The tears made me cry, and I lay down beside her.
"We must leave in the morning. We can go to the super market across the street?"
She nods her head, still laying and half-asleep.
I wonder, What started the fire?
