For the next few weeks I continued waking up and feeling well rested, which was usually pretty difficult, due to my scoliosis and brace. Both caused much of a disturbance for me while sleeping.

I was even looking forward to seeing Vincent again.

Everyday after that day Vincent and I had met again, we continued to meet each other on the rooftop for lunch.

I remember exchanging small talk with him, but eventually drift off into our own thoughts. In his case, fall asleep.

One week Vincent had just disappeared.

On Monday, during biology I didn't see him and for many unknown reasons, at the time, I felt disappointed.

When lunch break came, I went back up to the rooftop and enjoyed the scenery by myself, secretly hoping he would surprise me and appear suddenly.

Of course, that is not what happened.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were the same. Vincent was absent and I accompanied myself on the rooftop.
Boredom soon devoured me again and I was back to my average self before I met Vincent.

Friday arrived and again, Vincent was absent in biology. During lunch, I proceeded to the rooftop and was soon munching on my sandwich. Staring out at the oceanic view, I was lost in thought until I heard soft foot steps on the cement stairs.

I immediately stood up and remember thinking about all the excuses I would use if it was a teacher.

The person finally stepped into view and a gush of surprise and relief washed over me all at once.
In his black pants, grey sweater and combed back hair, slightly tousled.. He looked like a prince back from war.

It was Vincent.

"Hey there bootyful," Vincent jokingly greeted.

I finally let out the breath I was holding in, "Hey."

He laughed childishly and walked toward me, threw his belongings down and sat near the spot I was recently in.

"Sit," he said patting the area beside him.

I hesitantly took a seat while still looking at him with narrowed eyes.

"Take a photo," Vincent smiled.

At that, I gave him an even more confused look.

"It'll last longer," he laughed throwing his head back.

I quickly looked away and realized that I was staring, "Sorry. I didn't mean to stare.."

"It's cool. I mean, it is my fault for being so supernaturally handsome," he replied, dramatically flipping his dark, short hair.

I shook my head at his ridiculousness, while trying to hold in my laugh as it forced a smile on to my lips.

All at once, Vincent's laughter disappeared. "Whoa," he softly said.

"...That was.... I mean, maybe your mouth was just twitching, but you look really pretty when you smile..." he claimed excitedly.

I felt blood rush to my cheeks and my ears started heating up. I quickly turned my face away from Vincent and pulled my knees up to my chest, sinking my face into my sweater.

Just thinking about this particular moment makes me blush.

"It's getting kinda cold, huh?" I muttered while fake coughing to try and cover up my embarrassment.

He continued to laugh until I shot him a small glare which caused him to close mouth relatively quickly and look away.

After moments passed Vincent finally broke the silence, "Wanna know where I've been the last three days?"

"Nope," I answered simply.

"I thought friends worried for each other," he replied, pouting like a child.

I instantly brought my face out of my sweater and looked him straight in the eyes. "We aren't friends," I stated firmly.

"Ouch!" He exclaimed clutching his heart dramatically. "Why not?"

"I don't need any," I mumbled.

After a few seconds, his confused expression was replaced with another smile and he looked away nodding his head as if he understood why I acted so harshly. More seconds pass and the silence is interrupted by a group of birds flying by.

"I'll tell you anyway!" He exclaimed.

"These last few days I was at baseball games! As you may already know, I'm apart of the baseball team and we were traveling," my eyes internally widened. I had controlled my outer appearance and made sure not to show any emotion that indicated that I was interested. In other words, I was trying hard to appear "cool".

At the time, I had no clue he was part of the baseball team. He didn't really seem like much of a sportsman neither. After analyzing him for a while, it made sense why his figure was so lean and strong.

This was when I had finally pieced the puzzle together and figured out why the other girls were trying to why his attention that day.

"Monday, I we went out to the bay to play against the Tigers and sadly lost. On Tuesday we had won a game against the Panthers, then Wednesday we went further south and won against the Brown Bears with my amazing home-run! Which puts us in the championships!" He continued proudly. "We just got back about 15 minuets ago," he continued while looking at the time on his phone.

I wasn't looking at him anymore, but I could hear the smile in his voice as he spoke.

Unexpectedly, he cupped my face and forced my gaze on to his, "Next Sunday evening the championship games are going to happen here at Peach Cove. I need you to come and watch. Can you do that?"

I shook my head, unable to verbally answer him because he was squeezing my face.

"That's not the answer I want," he pouted and slowly brought his facer closer to mine. As if my heart wasn't racing hard enough already, his next line it sprint even faster.
"I might just have to force an the answer from your fishy lips until you say yes."

I immediately begin nodding to indicate that I would go to the game.

"Yes!" He shouted, letting go of my face and pumped his hands in the air.

At the time, I was too busy trying to calm my heart rate, when suddenly Vincent wrapped his arms around my shoulders, engulfing me in a tight hug.

My heart tripled its rythym and I swear I could feel it making its way up my throat. My limbs nearly became jello to his touch.

"I wasn't really going to kiss you.... Unless you wanted me to," he whispered into my ear. You could clearly hear the smirk in his tone.

When I found the strength in my arms again, I immediately pushed him away with all my might, " One feet. I said stay one foot away."

Just as I was about to push Vincent away once more, he stood up and picked up his bag and threw me another one of his childish smiles.

"You said yes! No take backs, I expect you on the bleachers Sunday evening cheering for me as I glisten in sweat on the field," He announced excitedly, running his hands down his face dramatically.

Being the awkward teen that I was, I quickly switched the subject.

"It's almost time to go. We should leave before teachers and students begin crowding the halls," I suggested.

Just as I had reached the stairs, Vincent snatched my upper arm and tucked a small folded price of paper into my sleeve.

"Bye, see you Sunday!" He shouted, dashing down the stairs.

I slowly pulled the paper out and to my surprise it wasn't a note..

It was a ticket to the game.

I remember smiling to myself idiotically as I slowly exited the rooftop.
