Chapter 13

At the hospital, there were doctors laying a cover over William's body, Pamela sobbed as she held Blaine, Kurt was being held by his family. Hotch arrested Karofsky at the station while Rossi arrested Azimio. JJ threw down the file, the case was closed.

The BAU was on the jet heading home.

"I don't see how a parent can do that to their child, it's disgusting." JJ sighed.

"He was trying to scare him straight." Morgan said.

"I'm not justifying his actions, but if William wanted Kurt gone so badly, why didn't he do it himself?" Prentiss wondered.

"He had to make sure it didn't come back to him, besides Karofsky and Azimio were the perfect patsies." Rossi said.

Hotch stood out of his seat, walked to where Reid was sitting, and sat across from him.

"Reid?"

"Hm?" Reid looked up from his book.

"Morgan told me what happened...that you shot Anderson..."

"He was going to kill Kurt; do you expect me to just stand there and let it happen? No, never again."

"Reid..."

"Hotch, I watched the woman I loved be killed right in front of me, it still haunts me because...I can never forget it."

"I know Reid, but-"

"I couldn't let that happen to Blaine, not when I could do something about it...so if you want to punish me, or suspend me, I don't care. I know you would have done the same thing."

Hotch sighed and stood up and put a hand on Reid's shoulder.

"You're right..." He said then returned to his seat, Reid continued his book.

They finally landed back in Virginia and returned to the BAU.

"I don't know about you, but I need a drink!" Prentiss exclaimed.

"I'll buy." Rossi suggested.

"I'll have to take a raincheck, I got two boys waiting for me." JJ said, referring to her husband Will and young son Henry.

"Aaron, join us for a drink?"

"I suppose one drink wouldn't hurt."

"You know I'm down!" Morgan exclaimed.

"I'm in!" Garcia chimed in

"How 'bout it pretty boy?"

"Thanks, but I'm going to go home...but you all have fun, have a good night." Reid said then walked out the door and climbed into his car when his phone rang in his satchel.

He pulled the phone out, it was a message from a familiar number, well familiar to him.

216-555-419: Dr. Reid, this is Blaine, I wanted to thank you, for saving Kurt's life, don't worry I'll delete your number, I just wanted to say thank you, also Kurt says thank you for getting him out of the closet, and then saving him from being shot. Take care of yourself.

Reid couldn't help but smile at the message; knowing that both Kurt and Blaine were okay was enough for him. He knew that Kurt would still most likely have troubles due to his near-death experiences and that Blaine would have difficulty dealing with the death of his father, who tried to kill Kurt, but he also knew that Morgan was right. Kurt was strong, and so was Blaine; he'll get through it, they both will.
