Lewis sighs in annoyance. He and the rest of the drivers are sitting in a meeting with the FIA to discuss the race. The younger ones had already given up. Kevin, Nando, Nico, Checo and himself, on the other hand, are having heated discussions with the chairmen.

Max drinks a vanilla Frappuccino Venti from Starbucks, Charles one in caramel, as they both had a quick visit to a Starbucks before the meeting.

Carlos eats salted pretzels, of which he keeps giving some to his boyfriend. Lando, in turn, hands them to Logan and Oscar and the two McLaren drivers start trading. A handful of pretzels for a handful of nuts and so on. Logan looks critically at his and his best friend's haul and passes on to Oscar what they still need for their little buffet.

Alex and George talk quietly about their latest acquisitions. A DTM Mercedes car for the 'Carrera track', even tho the Mercedes is from 2018 and its owner was Pascal Wehrlein.

Valtteri and Zhou play tic-tac-toe as Zhou lightly kicked Val under the table the whole time to get attention. They are supported by the AlphaTauri duo, so they play a more complicated version. Liam and Yuki do quite well although their strategies sound rather chaotic.

Lance and Esteban discuss fiercely, yet quietly, in French. About Pierre. Which is a bit ironic, but Pierre listens with interest and doesn't point out to them that, as a Frenchman, he can obviously speak fluent French. Since Lance is from Québec, which is the French-speaking part of Canada, he can really annoy Esteban and give him a good talking to.

"Since you don't want to listen to us, we have to resort to harder methods. Nando says angrily and the FIA staff look at him mockingly. "That's why we brought in reinforcements!" Grins the Spaniard. A thought flickers through Lewis' head. 'Run as fast as you can when Fernando Alonso Díaz is grinning maliciously!'

When Mika Hakkinen, Kimi Raikkonen, Sebastian Vettel, Mark Webber, Jenson Button and Romain Grosjean come through the door, they turn pale. The younger ones, on the other hand, start to beam.

The squad is not to be trifled with. The two Finns are discussing in their mother tongue and the tense facial expressions immediately make the language sound much more threatening. Mark immediately drops to the left of Nando while Jenson takes a seat to his right and Fernando informs them both. And Romain and Seb? The two good-natured former drivers are the ones who are most frightening when they get angry. And when they're both mad at the same person, that person can start planning their funeral.

"You know what. I think the FIA is like an onion." Max suddenly says and puts his now empty Frappuccino to one side. The others look at him confused and a little sceptical. "What makes you think of an onion, Max?" Nando asks.

"Well, at first you think it's all diverse and has all different things, but in the end it's the same shit under each layer that hurts your eyes when you look at it." Is the explanation and Oscar chokes on a nut out of laughing.

But the drivers quickly get to the point of why they are here in the first place. While the younger riders chow down on their snacks and drink a lot, like in a cinema show, the former riders argue a lot with the FIA.

Sebastian starts the argument and says angrily "This is absurd! What happened on that track yesterday was unacceptable, and we won't tolerate it any longer."

Romain nods vigorously "Absolutely! It's about time the FIA took the safety of the drivers seriously."

The FIA representer says calmly "Gentlemen, we understand your concerns, but we have strict regulations in place for driver safety."

Kimi says in his usual calm demeanor "Regulations, my foot! Regulations didn't help them to see straight out there!" Mark adds firmly "And they certainly didn't stop drivers from fainting or needing medical attention after the race."

Jenson raises his voice next "This is a matter of life and death! Drivers shouldn't be collapsing or vomiting during a race."

Seb points at the FIA representative "You need to investigate what caused these issues immediately! We demand answers."

Romain crossed his arms "And don't tell us it's just a one-off incident. It's been building up for too long."

The FIA Representative mumbes "We take these concerns seriously, and we will investigate thoroughly."

Alex yells frustrated "Investigate? I needed help to get out of my car, and I couldn't even breathe properly!" George adds concerned "I saw the whole world blurred, and it wasn't a good kind of blur.

Kevin says deathly serious "I think I saw three pink elephants on the track. That's not normal."

Seb points at the FIA representative again "They're not racing until you guarantee their safety."

Mark Webber nods and says madly "This isn't a joke. They put their lives on the line out there, and they won't do it if it's not safe."

FIA Representative raises his hands in defeat "We hear you, and we will work on addressing these issues immediately."

Romain calmes down slightly. "Good, because the drivers' lives are at stake here." He grumbles. Jenson Button adds firmly "We want to see real action and change, not just empty promises."

The FIA Representative sighs "We will do our best to ensure the safety of the drivers is our top priority."

Fernando, who has said nothing so far, stands up and growls "And when I have scars from the burns, we'll see each other again. With a lawyer in court." He just walks out of the room, making it dramatic, but the other drivers think it's fair.

One by one, the others stand up and leave the room. For them, the conversation is over. Because they all know. If nothing changes, the FIA will have a RB Seb, a protective Kimi, an angry Romain, an aggressive Fernando, a pissed-off Jenson and a threatening Mark at their front door.
