Chapter 5: Safe or Not?

First of all, I'm really sorry for posting this late but due to 10th I was not able to write further chapters. I hope you all will accept the delay and forgive me

Precap: Saket got a call from Shashank and whatever he heard, shocked him to core

Swati: What happened? Are the children fine? Say something.

Akshara: Saketji, please tell us.

Saket (emotionlessly): Shashank and Apurva met an accident.

All gasped in shock. Tears were flowing from everyone's eyes. Little Sidshek were not understanding anything and looking at them confusingly.

Sidshek (baby voice): Dadu, aught is akshident?

Saket kneeled at their height.

Saket: Baccha, mumma papa got injured. Abhi bete, you got bau (hurt) on your hand, right?
Abhi nodded innocently in yes.

Saket: Same way your mumma papa got bau.

Sid: They must be clying (crying) na due to bau (hurt)? Abhu also clied when he had bau.

Aditya (shout): Siddharth, stop asking stupid questions. We need to go to hospital right now.

Sidshek flinched due to shout. Sid started crying. Abhi hugged him though he himself had tears. He patted Sid's back.

Akshara: Aho, tyachavar ka oradtay? Lahan aahe to. Aapan lavkarat lavkar hospitalla pohochla pahije.
[Translation: Aho, why are you shouting on him? We should reach the hospital in no time.]

Swati: Aksharaji sahi ke rahi hai
[Translation: Akshara is right.]

Saket and Aditya nodded. Swati and Akshara consoled Sidshek. Then they all left for the hospital. There, the Dr. was already waiting for them only.

All: How are the children? Are they fine? Can we meet them? Where are they? Tell us dr.

Dr: Cool down, cool down. I know you are worried for them but let me speak. Mr. and Mrs.Nigam, Mr. and Mrs. Patil, I'm sorry. We tried our best but the injuries were deep. It was a car accident. Mr. Shashank's car got in accident near jungle road. It blasted. Some civilians saw Mr. Shashank in a very bad state, unconscious a few meter away from the car. They took his phone and called for ambulance as well as you all. Mr. Late treatment and major blood loss were one of the causes of Mr. Nigam's survival chances to be low. Still we tried our best to save him. But, we failed. We're sorry for your demise. Especially these kids' demise.

Saket and Swati were shocked to death. They couldn't believe that their kid, their Shashank, their blood was no more. Aditya and Akshara too felt sorry for Shashank but their ears wanted to hear about Appu. They were confused why the dr. did not mentioned anything about Appu. Was she safe or she too.... Was the only question coming in their minds. Finally gathering some courage and making their minds ready to face the worst, they asked the dr. Dr. looked confused.

Dr: Weren't Mr. Shashank alone?

All: No dr. Shashank and Apurva were together only.

Dr: I see. In that caSe, maybe Mr. Shashank would have been thrown out of car at time of accident but Mrs. Apurva would have been in the car only. And Shashank would have gone a bit away from the car to ask for help but due to weakness and injuries got unconscious. In this case, I sorry to say but, Mrs. Apurva would have burned with the car blast. We didn't had the slightest idea of someone been in the car. So poor of these kids, they lost their both parents on very same day and became an orphan. But thankfully they have someone who could look after them.

All were shocked like hell. No one was ready to believe that they lost both, Shashank and Apurva on very same day. All were crying silently. Sidshek were also crying as they could sense something bad had happened. They looked at dr innocently as well as confusingly.

Sidshek: Wheal (Where) ij mumma papa? I want them.

Dr: Babies, they are no more. They will not come and meet you. They are with God now. They became a star. Now you have to live without them with your grandparents. (turning to Saket, Swati, Akshara and Aditya.) Last rituals of Mr. Shashank should be done. So we will give you body.

Saket: Can we see him, Dr? Please! Please let me see him.

Dr: Fine but from distance.

All nodded and dr took them to Shashank's body. Abhi was feeling suffocating but he ignored that feeling. He and Sid went behind their grandparents. Soon they reached in a room. Dr told them to put on mask. Smell of dead body was coming as soon as the Dr opened the door which made Abhi more suffocated. He was facing difficulties in breathing but ignoring that all, he went near his father. Dr. removed the cloth from Shashank's face. That was too much for Abhi. By seeing his father's bleeding face with lots of cuts, his head started spinning.

Abhi: Papa....

And he collapsed down on the floor. All started panicking. Sid got more scared. He right now saw his father in a very bad condition and now his twin too fainted. He started crying vigorously hugging Abhi and patting his cheeks. Dr. quickly took Abhi in his arms and took him out of the room. He checked and injected him. He turned to have a word with others who looked tensed.

Dr: It was an Asthma Attack. He got too scared when he saw Shashank and also the surrounding was suffocating him. Don't worry, I have injected him and he will gain consciousness in few hours. You please console the other little. (To Sid) Hey, champ, nothing has happened to your twin. See, after 2 hours he will be playing with you. Don't cry or he too will start crying after waking up. Wipe your tear. Do you want him to cry and be sick? Then wipe it.

Sid nodded in no and wiped his tears. He hugged Saket and in no time, sleep took over him.

Next Chapter onwards the story is going to be more interesting as the story will have a leap of 23 years. Finally you all are going to see the big, eldor and dashing Sidshek.
