When (Y/N) exit the library, it began to rain quite heavily. The girl sighs, but luckily it won't be a problem since she did bring an umbrella, thanks paranoia.
She starts walking, but for the sake of her own safety she decides to take a bus to go home. Who knows, maybe that stranger from moments ago is following her and she's not dumb to lead him to her building.
After a couple of minutes she reaches the bus stop, letting out a groan after reading that the next bus comes in half an hour. With nothing else left to do she simply stays there, holding her umbrella tightly as the rain keeps pouring.
The stop itself had no roof, so there was no additional way to stay dry, and because of that tiny detail you can assume how surprised (Y/N) was when noticed someone stop right next to her.
She couldn't see much, and she didn't really want to look at the stranger, knowing that not everyone takes staring kindly. But she did have a quick glance, and the stranger seemed to be tall, quite a giant actually, and wear some sort of dark blue mechanics uniform, definitely not a good vest for rain judging by how much water is already soaking through the fabric.
She also noticed that the stranger wasn't facing in the same direction as her, his body was a tag tilted, tilted towards her, which only meant that...
She swallows nervously as she grips her umbrella tighter, the fuck this dude is staring at her? Is he planing something shady? Rob her? Assault her? Is he the man from the library? Or simply some creep?
The deep muffed breathing coming from him didn't help neither, it only made her feel worse, more threatened and vulnerable in some way.
When that feeling of exposure became too overwhelming, (Y/N) decides to glance back and see what that weirdo wants and how she should act about it. She tilts her umbrella enough to reveal the stranger's face, her having to crain her neck to meet it, and as soon as she sees it her breathing just pauses.
Instead of seeing some stupid grin or a lost high gaze, she's greeted with dark eye sockets of a pale emotionless rubber mask. She's completely frozen under the man's gaze, as if the mildest movement would trigger something terrible. This is not the situation she was expecting to get into and she's not quite sure what to do about it... One thing she knows for sure is that acting tough and hostile won't be the right choice, this dude could easily crush her throat, just look at the size of his hands!
She then notices how wet the stranger is, the hair of his uncanny mask completely soaked and constantly dripping water down his face.
(Y/N) has no clue what got into her, but she hopes that maybe if she acts all innocent and pretends to be a helpless idiot this man will leave her alone, she's not sure why but her gut is telling her to act that way.
She very slowly moves her umbrella forward, enough to cover the stranger's head and part of his body. The gesture at first got no reaction from the man, but after a couple seconds of intense silence he hilts his head a bit, gesture that made (Y/N) a tag uneasy.
—"Uh... I just...Don't like seeing you under the rain, it's pretty wet and... Uhm... Cold."— you explain awkwardly. —"You could get sick, y'know..."—
A pause settles in, the stranger says nothing and doesn't move, but (Y/N) could feel his gaze and attention completely focused on her, making her feel even more exposed and awkward.
—"You... Your mask is pretty cool, is this your Halloween costume?"— you ask.
No answer.
—"Okay, that's a mystery I suppose... But not gonna lie, you're pretty creative, a simple look but hella iconic, wish I could be so minimalist while drawing characters."—
