Spencer never really had a childhood, his father absent and his mother a schizophrenic. Rossi and Hotch step in and help him out, something to help him cope. The team step in as his aunts/uncles and are more than happy to help their pretty boy.
The week had soon flown by and now it was time for Rossi to start his book tour. They had told Garcia what was going to happen, which obviously made her upset but Rossi promised that he'd try and call everyday. It made her feel a bit better but she was still sad about it. They of course wanted to tell Spencer too but didn't know if it was best to or not or to just wake up the next morning and let him notice that his papa wasn't there but they thought that was mean.
It was the middle of the night and Rossi had kissed Garcia goodbye. Hotch was up and waiting so he could help out with Spencer. They decided to tell him in the middle of the night, it was still horrible but they thought that maybe with his sleepy state, he wouldn't be too upset.
"Spencer, buddy" Rossi gently shook him awake.
"Hmm" he whines.
"Hey kid, I'm sorry I know you're sleeping but papa has to tell you something very important"
"Up" Spencer says as he got himself up and held onto the cot bars. Rossi gets him out and cuddles him.
"Papa's got to go, ok? I need you to behave for dada"
"Noooo, no do" Spencer tightens his grip a little.
"I'm sorry kid, I'll be back before you know it. I promise to try and call everyday"
"Where papa do?" Spencer asks.
"I'm going on a book tour buddy, I'll be going to all sorts of places"
"Nooooo, i tome papa. I tome" Spencer sobs.
"I'm sorry buddy, you can't, you have to stay here with dada"
"Come, papa's got to go, you can come sleep in dada's bed" Hotch tries to take him but Spencer was having none of it.
"Noooo, wan' papa" he sobs as he was pried away. It took Hotch then next three hours to get Spencer back to sleep once Rossi had left and before he knew it, Garcia was getting him up bright and early.
"Dada up" Garcia says.
"Ok ok, I'm coming I'm coming" he mumbles, half asleep.
"Dada" Garcia whines.
"Ok, let's go before Spencer wakes up" he yawns as he sat up and sat on the edge of the bed, trying to wake himself up a bit. He has a very strong coffee that morning while making breakfast for the two toddlers. Spencer soon woke up crying and so he brought him down.
"Ok back upstairs please to wash faces and get dressed" he says after breakfast once the toddlers went off to play. Hotch brushes their teeth and wash their faces before heading to Spencer's room. He changes his nappy before putting him into a blue long sleeve bodysuit, a pair of black joggers and a navy space jumper.
