(Sasha's Pov): The next day...
I woke up the next day after having the best night of my life. My sister asked me if my night out with Dad was great. I chuckled and said, "It was." I yawned happily: "We talked, went for drinks at a bar, went to a shooting range at Dry Harbor, and then drove to the Statue of Liberty until the sun came out. Until I told him about my powers..."
Betty opened the curtain of our guest room at the S.T.A.R.K. Industries (the man was generous, which was unexpected, but understanding why Betty is loved here and in S.H.I.E.L.D. ) before I noticed it was 8 o'clock with a heavy grunt, I went to pick an outfit for the day when I heard my older sister asking: "H-How did he...?"
"How did he react to my powers? Well... surprisingly, he was okay with it." I thought before shaking it off, "But anyway, let me tell you some crazy things about what he and I did together."
As I rambled about the fun I had with my dad, making Betty look sympathetic, I got confused and tilted my head on why she gave me that look: "What?" Betty smiles softly, "I guess forgiveness works now."
I break into a smile and head to the bathroom to take a shower.

While I was enjoying breakfast with Betty, we started talking about many things, just like in old times when we were little. However, the moment suddenly had to be ruined when a news reporter of the NCBS channel came out: [" 'The president has assured me that the registration for mutants will be signed tomorrow. So, the Brotherhood and the X-MEN, you're days are numbered.' "] Senator Kelly announced.
As soon as those words were spoken, I dropped my orange juice glass, which got every customer's attention at Starbucks. Not hearing anything the news was saying, the one thing that came to mind was: ' Oh no, Logan...' I thought before Betty saw my frown while trying to understand the situation. I was beginning to feel worse than before when I felt my older sisters give me a soft rub on my arm to calm me down.
Sadly, it didn't work, so I stormed out of the cafe. We left for the U-Ber, and as it drove me back to S.T.A.R.K. Industries, I immediately packed my backpack with my bike key and headed to the elevator. I patiently waited for the lobby to ring until my sister called me: "Sasha, you stormed out! What's going on?"
"Not now, I need to head back." I urgently told her, "My friends need me; I'm going to call Warren, and please tell Dad that he needs to stop the registration act now."
"...Okay, I'll talk to Dad about Senator Kelly's idea over mutant registration. But I swear he won't last, even if he has influence over a general like our Dad and Warren's dad as well... I Love you, too. See you on July 4th." Betty said.
I nodded as soon as I ended the call; I drove faster, not caring if anyone saw me using my agility (because they would think I was in a hurry). I used the time to call Warren; it had been a while since I called or texted him, so, without any doubts, I called him.
To which he answered: "Hey, Sasha!" However, my impatience and anxiety made me dismiss him, "Not now, Warren." I continued to demand, "Is what the news said about the Mutant Registration Act signing tomorrow true?"
Warren's silence only heightened my apprehension and fear, but before he could say anything, suddenly, a truck was in front of me, and I ALMOST got hit by it. A loud honk from other cars complained about my driving skills, earning them my middle finger before shouting a 'fuck off' and continuing to drive, as Warren spoke: "Wait a minute, are you driving?"
"Uh yeah, I am! Why?" My voice made a 'duh' sound while I gripped my fist onto my motorcycle, "You do remember that the last time you were driving on your bike?"
"Hmmm, no?~" I teasingly lie about remembering it: "I never recall-"
I could hear Warren sigh in frustration from the other side of the phone call: "Oh, for god's sake, Sasha. I'm not falling for that lie." He scolded before continuing, "Look, I understand you're worried about the Mutant Registration Act, and I am too, but you have to be careful. We can't afford any accidents right now.
"As I asked, do you remember what happened last time when you were reckless on your bike, right?"
I couldn't help but chuckle despite the dire situation the mutants are at risk, and my friend had a fair point: "Alright, alright, I remember." Taking the following shortcut to Washington and speeding up the bike again, "That was a crazy stunt, but I promise I won't do anything like that again."
Warren's voice softened as he replied, "Good." He continues: "We need to stay safe and focused right now. We're in this together, and I'll figure out how to fight against this act." That's when I decided to mess around a bit: "Yeah, you're going to do it WITHOUT your wings?"
"Hey, I can't help but blame it on my father for not letting me help the X-MEN or join them. EXCEPT, I can reconstruct the place so it doesn't stay destroyed forever." Warren's voice was playfully playful, and I laughed loudly before hearing him be serious again. "Just be patient, and let's gather the team and devise a plan. Don't do anything rash because Logan would have freaked out if you were in an accident."
Warren pointed it out, and I chuckled, feeling reassured by Warren's warnings, but decided to ignore it: "You're right." I lied by driving off the road to make it to the next highway, where loud honking sounds of trucks and cars started shouting at my recklessness, "I'll be careful, and I'll see you soon. We'll put our heads together and figure out how to stop this registration."
As soon as I got out of town on the road, my mind was filled with thoughts of the looming threat and the uncertainty of the future for mutants like us. But one thing was for sure: I would not let this act pass without a fight, and I knew that with the support of my friends, we would stand together against it. I started to think of how Logan felt about the betrayal of Rogue working for the Brotherhood back home.
A/N: sorry it was short, but there's more coming!
