(Sasha's POV): At the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning...
When I arrived in Washington, it was midnight, and my priority was to go straight to the Xavier Institute school. In haste, I carelessly parked my motorcycle, causing it to fall. As I rushed towards the hole, my heart was pounding with fear, and I wondered if something terrible had happened to the others.
But first, I had to call Logan; I waited for permission but got no answer: 'C'mon, Logan. Pick up, please. Damn it, I hope he's alright.' Then the call went to voicemail, and that it was. Then I started to see it was 16 times, and the overwhelming feeling got the best of me. With enough courage, I walked away before I ran towards and jumped into the hole; I landed on my feet but slipped when I used my hands to protect myself from falling on my face.
Instead, I used my right wrist to steady myself more than the other one; Only to break it. I covered my mouth from screaming in pain, only to hiss a bit before I got up and searched, but there was no one around. I continued to call out, hoping that someone would respond and ease my growing anxiety:
"Logan?" No answer.
"Kitty?" Strike two.
"Scott?" Strike three.
"Hank?" Still no answer. This is strike four.
"Guys, are you all in here?" Strike five, and I'm out.
Worried about everyone, I felt my heart pounding even worse, and I didn't even realize someone was behind me: "Sasha?"
With instincts, I didn't care who it was, but I punched the person straight in the face and backflipped him to the floor with his arm this close to breaking it when I suddenly recognized the grunt from anywhere. With the relief of seeing him, the mix of fear and anxiety started melting away, and I felt confused: "Logan?" I panicked.
On the other hand, Logan was shocked: "Ngh, Yeah, I guess I should've announced myself sooner. Sorry, darlin'." After I let him go, I watched as he got off the floor and rubbed his shoulder, giving me a wry smile. "But you've got quite the punch there."
I blushed at his words before saying, "I... I didn't m-mean t-to hurt you." I stammered, "I was so worried about you that I called Warren to ask if he could tell me what happened."
Logan's expression grew serious, and he narrowed his blue eyes at me: "Yeah, Rogue set us up; that's what happened."
My eyes widen in disbelief, "What do you mean, 'Rogue set us up'?"
"She's joined the Brotherhood, that's what!" My heart was still racing, but now it was for a different reason. The shock of Logan's revelation hit me hard. I had known Rogue just yesterday, and the idea of her turning against the X-Men was challenging to process. But, under the circumstances, I understood it: "No way, Logan. Are you sure?" Sasha asked, her voice trembling with a mix of concern and disbelief.
Logan's expression remained stern as he replied, "Yeah, darlin'. She helped the Brotherhood ambush us by the MRD." He explains it to me: "We managed to escape, but it wasn't easy. They had the element of surprise on their side." I listened while I struggled to process this information.
Rogue, a trusted team member, had betrayed her home and her family of the X-MEN. It was a bitter pill to swallow: "But why, Logan? Why would she do something like this?" Logan shook his head, his frustration evident. "I don't know, Sasha." He angrily kicked a couple of boxes. Rogue had convinced herself to switch sides so it could all be a trap."
Still processing this new information, my mind began racing with many questions as I wondered about the other members: "What about the others? Are they safe?" He nodded, "Yeah, they're all fine. They went to sleep earlier after the set-up."
