{Jess' POV}
When we entered the gardens, the fountain was hidden from view by trees, some artfully arranged, others strategically placed around the area. I forced myself to not crane my neck around to peer at the fountain, but instead kept my eyes on my Converse as we moved closer to the spot.When Amy and I rounded the last corner to find ourselves along the rectangle of paths that lead straight to the fountain, and the Royal Exhibition Building beyond (A/N: Google image search"Carlton Gardens" if you have no idea what we're on about), I gathered all the courage I had to look up.
My heart stopped.
John Pearce, the John Pearce, was leaning against the fountain, smiling at something hidden from my view by a tree.
His perfect face was tilted slightly toward the sky, the sun reflecting off his sunglasses. Even from here I could see his Vans were worn out in the way that makes them look so much better, and just the way he was standing kinda turned me on. The tight white print t-shirt he wore exposed his muscled arms, enveloped in a tattoo sleeve, and the way his arms were crossed comfortably across his (amazing, toned) chest made them bulge even more.
I couldn't help it. I squealed.
I turned to find Amy also staring at John, the corners of her mouth tilting slightly upwards and her mouth just sorta open, which made her look kinda like some creepy pervert.
I grabbed my sister's hand and took one small step forward with her.
This is where all our dreams come true.
