{Lenny's POV}

John was stressing out about Jess not showing up. I tried everything I could to stop him from worrying but I could never get his mind off it. Whatever I did, I knew that he just wanted me to shut up and wait for Jess to come.

When she did arrive eventually, I watched John smile at her like a total creep. I mean, yeah, she was pretty, but you know who was really catching my eye... her sister. God. Damn. I found it hard to tear my eyes away from her to politely look at Jess while she talked.

As John and Jess swapped numbers, I rummaged through my wallet for a receipt to write on and found an old pencil in my pocket. I scribbled down my number, leaning on the fountain and held it out to Amy. "Here," I said, a little nervously "text me when you get the chance. Um, I'd really like to speak to you more..."

She laughed to put me at ease, and shoved my number in her bag. Amy shook her hair out of her eyes and smiled at me. A real smile. Completely natural, no shame, and with a slightly crooked front tooth that made my heart jump. God. Damn. Seriously, why does this girl make me skip a beat when I'm talking to her? Why is life so difficult some times? These were the questions running through my head when John and I were walking back to the car. "Dude, Jess was hot!" John said to me the moment we got in the car. I wasn't really the person who talked about their feelings so I just agreed with him.

A couple of days had passed and still Amy hadn't texted me, maybe she wasn't interested or I was just really embarrassing or I was trying to hard? I don't know but what ever I did, it was really annoying me. Today we were going out with the girls again and they were showing us around Melbourne.

I couldn't wait. In that awkward, nervous, crazy, unbelievably loveable way.
