The Cat and the Cursed Duke

Chapter 3~The Grand Duke

The cloaked figure stepped out of the shadow's grinning, i gulped then backed away a little i could feel my body shaking in fear.

"You know something kitty you were the key we were looking for"

(What does he mean?)

"You are wondering what i mean don't you well don't worry once i capture you your question will be answered"

He chuckled then walked towards me, closer he came the more dark energy i could feel from him until he stopped.

"I am sure you are smart kitty and make the right choice so come with me or i will take you by force"

(N.. no i can not let him persuade me because i am alot stronger as i was then so screw you!!)

The cloaked figure kneeled down infront of me, as he slowly reached out to me i bit his hand so hard then began to run.

"Tch you will regret that go after that cat and bring it back to me alive!"

The monsters nodded and began to follow me, the cloaked figure smirked then vanished running as fast as i could the monsters were catching up to me.

(Dammit! they are fast)

No matter how fast i ran they continued to chase after me, but then i heard rustling sounds and a group of wolves looking monsters appeared infront of me which i stopped running.

(Damn i am cornered now what)

Backing away as they treaded closer and closer to me, my back was towards a tree the cloaked figure then appeared laughing.

"There is nowhere for you to run anymore kitty give up now"

The wolf like monsters were growling and were preparing to attack, i began to wonder if i should give up.

"That is right now give up and come with me"

(Once again.. i became pathetic.. who couldn't do anything right why.. if only i was STRONGER!!)

The crystal shone brightly then let out a bright light, making everything bright i took this chance to jump up into the trees and began to jump from one to the other.

"Dammit!!! after her and i don't care if you have to rough her up but bring her back!"

Wolf like monsters even jumped up into the trees continuing to follow me, even so i didn't stop no matter what.

But then all of a sudden black flames were shooting towards me, but i dodged them until a black orb came out of nowhere and hit me sending me flying onto the ground.

"I had enough of this game of tag give up now or i will force you to give up!"

Once again the cloaked man landed down infront of me, the wolf like monsters jumped down next to him.

(No i can not give up what is the point of giving up when i was given this second chance of life!)

Staggering onto my paws panting and in pain, i glared at the cloaked figure who gritted his teeth in anger and launched multiple of dark orbs.

(Screw you!)

I gave out a loud yell and the crystal once again glowed brightly, it then formed a light barrier around me.

"Tch give up already!!!"

He continued to throw the dark orbs towards the barrier, as the wolf like monsters began to attack the barrier.

(*Pant.. pant*.. I got to hold on but i am getting so tired)

The energy inside of me i could feel it draining, the barrier was beginning to crack knowing it won't hold on for long with despair i closed my eyes and tears fell.

("Use the power inside of you little one you can do this")

There it was again the voice and what did it mean the power inside of me, then the barrier shattered.

"Now your finished!"

(No i am not!!!)

Light surrounded by body then opening my eyes they were glowing, the cloaked figure looked shocked as i charged at him.

(EAT THIS!!!)

Jumping into him the light energy from my body burst out and everything went bright, once the light vanished i opened my eyes panting.

Staggering onto my paws and looking around the cloaked figure was nowhere to be seen, the wolf like monsters were gone.

(I.. i did it I DID IT!!! ugh..)

Collapsing my energy was leaving my body and i was badly injured, unable to get up i heard footsteps then looked over but my vision became blurry and blacked out.

**Kayden's P.O.V.**

**Slashes the last monster and sheathes his sword**

"Your grace that seems to be the last of them"

"Alright lets return back to camp then get ready to leave"

"Yes sir!"

My name is kayden leonheart the son of the grand duke who died, so at the age of sixteen i took over the dukedom as the sole heir.

But when i was little i was cursed, this curse would feed off my energy and aura the previous duke had two wives.

The previous duke resented the witch so much once she was pregnant with his child and was born.

One of them was a witch, filled with greed and hunger for power for her son she committed so many things.

In the end she was executed but as a price she cursed me, as for her son disappeared and couldn't be found at all.

"Man i thought it was never gonna end"

"I know right but for some reason the monsters have become more active"

(*Sighs* it is not becoming any easier ma-- huh this energy)

Feeling a unfamiliar energy i looked into the direction it came from, without hesitation i followed it until i reached a destroyed area.

(What the hell happened here i can feel the energy)

Looking around the destroyed area i saw something white, as i approached closer it was the cat from before.

"Hey are you okay"

I called out to it but didn't answer, running over it looked at me then passed out kneeling down i scooped it up into my arms. 

It was wounded badly and it was barely breathing, but for some reason i felt this weird sensation inside of my chest.

(Do i know from somewhere)

Shaking my head i quickly got up then headed back to the camp in a hurry, i was hoping that this cat will give up.

***End of P.O.V***

  (Ugh my body hurts so much who is calling me)

Opening my eyes my vision became into focus, i looked around in the tent i was in but then the red haired male i saw before entered.

"Looks like your awake"

He smiled then walked over and placed a bowl of soup down, he then sat down next to me as he began to stroke me softly.

"I am glad your awake and let me introduce myself my name is Kayden Leonheart the grand duke of the leonheart dukedom.

(W.. WHAT THE GRAND DUKE!?)
