The Cat and the Cursed Duke

Chapter 4~The curse part 1

(The grand duke!? i did read in romance manga's that the protagonist's falls in love and marries a grand duke who are hot, handsome, powerful and very wealthy)

"Are you sure you okay?"

He had a worried look in his eyes as he patted my head, i shook my head and meowed to him saying i am alright.

"That is a relief you should continue to rest until then"

I nodded then laid down and closed my eyes slowly until i fell asleep, kayden smiled then got up and left the tent.

(Ugh.. where am i it smells)

Opening my eyes i noticed i was in a shabby dusty smelly room, across from me were cages inside of them were children but had animal ears and tails.

All of a sudden the door opened with a bang, a cloaked figure wearing a mask entered the room he then walked over to one of the cages.

(H.. hey what the hell is he doing oi leave them alone!)

I tried to move but couldn't as i was chained up, i watched hopelessly as the masked figure opened the cage and dragged a boy out.

The boy had chestnut brown hair and emerald green eyes, he had fox ears and tail then watched the masked figure injecting him with something.

"O.. oi leave him alone!"

"Be quiet if you do not want your pretty face to be hurt"

He smirked behind his mask then lifted the fox boy into his arms, he then stomped out and slammed the door.

"Waaah i want to go home"

"Hic.. mommy.. daddy.."

Hearing those poor children cry made tears fall down my cheeks, i felt useless and couldn't help them as i laid down and curled up into a ball falling asleep.

(Mom.. dad.. hic.. hic.. i am scared)

"H.. hey wake up kitty wake up"

Opening my eyes i gasped then looked over to kayden, he had me in his arms holding me close to his chest.

"Are you okay? i saw you crying so i thought you might have been in pain"

(I was crying?)

All of a sudden i felt his warm hands wipe my tears away, i blushed while looking at him then looked away.

"Just continue to rest and we will be heading back to the capital very soon i need to report to his majesty"

Kayden kissed my head then laid me down, he then left the tent blushing more i hid my face into my paws.

(H.. he is so handsome! dammit that is cheating but it did feel so warm though)

I yawned then closing my eyes i fell asleep, few hours went by and i opened my eyes seeing how dark it was i presumed it was night.

 (Ugh so thirsty)

As i opened my eyes with my throat being so dry, but i felt like i was being held in someone's arms, as i turned around to see who it was i just froze.

(W.. w.. what is kayden doing sleeping next to me!?)

Blushing deeply and shaking my head i managed to wiggle out his arms slowly, once free i looked over to him his handsome sleeping face.

Not only that but his muscular chest that exposed with his shirt unbuttoned, it made my heartbeat. 

(Gah!! i better leave before i do something i will regret and become a pervert)

Jumping off the bed i quickly ran out of the tent, once out i headed to a river nearby upon arriving i stopped then kneeled down to take a drink then looked up at the moon.

(So pretty the moon is and besides if kayden is important then how come there is only three knights with him)

Sighing i went back to drinking, but then my ears perked up then turned around and i was surprised to see the cloaked masked figure.

(Why has he returned and he looks different this time)

The cloaked masked figure was panting like he was in pain, around him was a dark purplish aura surrounding his body.

"Y.. you! this is your fault thanks to you my master is furious with me!"

(How is that my fault your the one who became a idiot)

"N.. now it is your turn to feel the pain!"

All of a sudden the aura went brighter then a black orb was shot towards me, i barely managed to dodge it but i winced in pain.

(Argh! dammit my body isn't healed yet but i got to get to kayden)

Even though i was in pain i made a run for it, but the masked figure vanished and reappeared infront of me then grabbed me by the neck.

"Hahahaha how does it feel being so hopeless now i have you in my grasp!"

As he started squeezing my neck tighter, i began to struggle to breathe and tried to get out his grasp.

"This is the end for you!"

All of a sudden a dagger with a dark purplish handle, appeared in his hand then began to thrust it towards me i closed my eyes.

(I am going to die again no i don't want to die.. huh? did i hear a scream)

Opening my eyes i saw blood running down his mouth from his mask, his grip loosened and i managed to get free.

(Kayden he is here!?)

Standing behind the masked figure was kayden, his sword pierced the masked figure's chest as he panting slightly.

"Get away from her"

"Hehehehe you might have killed me here tonight but be warned you one day might end up killing her"

Kayden pulled his sword out, the masked man fell to the ground and his body went cold then turned to dust as kayden fell to the ground panting.

 (Kayden! are you okay)

I ran over but he told me to stop and not to come any closer, i did want to get closer to him but all of a sudden his eyes went red then a purplish dark aura surround his body with weird letters on his cheek, arms and neck.

"Ha.. ha.. ugh.. run before i hurt you!"

But i refused and began to approach him, he clutched his chest tightly as he growled and yelled out in pain.

(W.. why must be hurt kayden you saved me and took care of me now it is my turn!)

As i stood infront of him i could see him clutching his fists and gritting his teeth, seeing him trying to fight whatever it was hurt me.

(Kayden.. its okay i won't leave you)

I gulped then placed my two paws onto his chest, then i gave him a kiss onto his lips as i did that the crystal began to glow brightly as light surrounded us.

When i opened my eyes i saw how bright it was, it was morning and looking at the bandages that was removed looked like my body healed somehow.
