On an early morning, the sound of the phone ringing stirred Sidney awake. A groan leaving her lips as she lazily grabbed the phone, sitting up and answering. "Hello?"

"Hello, Sidney." A distorted voice spoke through the phone.

"Yes?" Sidney yawned. She was way past used to prank phone calls. People constantly pretending to impersonate Ghostface and call either her or Rory, but unlike Sidney, Rory just doesn't answer her phone like always.

"What's your favorite scary movie?" The impersonator continued to toy with her.

"Who is this?"

"You tell me."

Sidney grabbed her caller ID system and read it to the prank caller. "Cory Gillis, 555-0176."

"Oh, shit!" The voice modulator turned off, revealing a boy's startled voice.

"Hot flash, Cory. Prank calls are a criminal offense prosecuted under penal code 653-M." The caller immediately hung up the phone, which always happened when Sidney busted them. "Hope you enjoyed the movie."

Sidney's roommate, Hallie, walked into their shared dorm with a bathrobe, coming back from the showers. Hallie oddly reminded Sidney of a special blonde that never left her mind. Maybe it was why Sidney liked having her as a roommate. She was sweet, confident, and bit back when pushed. "Time to change numbers again?"

"No. It'll die off. It's opening weekend. We'll see how it goes." Sidney yawned, knowing with the new Stab movie out people would prank call. She got out of bed, getting ready to shower. Hallie nodded and went to turn the tv on. A channel playing with Cotton Weary doing an interview.

"You know, Ron, uh, it's not an easy thing to be accused of a crime you didn't commit, particularly one as heinous as murder." Cotton stated.

The interviewer, Ron, asked. "But how do people treat you now that they know the truth about your innocence?"

"Most people are cool. There's some who still keep a safe distance, which is odd for me, cause I've always been sort of a people person."

"But you were wrongly accused! You were fully exonerated." Ron continued.

"Yeah, well, that and a nickel will get you a cup of coffee. Even that's not true anymore." Cotton spoke causing the audience to laugh.

"Well, certainly, with Gale Weather's book—and now the movie—it's set the record straight for Cotton Weary."

"One would think. But, uh, Gale's—Gale's been terrific."

Hallie cut the interview off and grabbed Sidney's attention which was on the tv. "Hey! Move your ass, okay? You're late. Don't forget about the routine mixer tonight at the Delta Lambda Zetas."

"I don't think I'm going to be able to make it, Hal." Sidney said.

"What? Don't even try to bag, okay? Cause you promised me just like Rory promised Chloe and Rory's holding up her word, so you have to go." Hallie complained.

"A vague promise at best. Plus, Rory can't say no to Chloe." Sidney walked out their dorm.

"Well, nobody's asking you to join, okay?" Hallie was persistent and followed behind Sidney. "It's a party. Free beer, meet the girls."

Sidney stopped and turned to her roommate. "Hallie, you know me and organized religion."

Hallie looked at her amused and said, "It's a sorority."

But Sidney wasn't the sorority type, if anything she was the opposite. "Worse."

"Look, Sid, just lower the walls for the next few days. Okay? This self-induced isolation you got going is not healthy." Hallie sighed. She was only concerned for Sidney, since she rarely ever went out. Unless it was with Hallie, her boyfriend, or Rory.
