Doing patrol one night, the last person Glimmer expected to see was a certain magicat hiding amongst the shadows of the castle.

Glimmer makes a decision.

Catra hissed loudly, sliding back down the wall. She stalked towards the Princess, jutting a finger out. "Don't you dare," She hissed. Glimmer took a subconscious step back, gripping her staff tightly. The magicat was in her face, panting heavily, anger burning deep within her blue and yellow eyes. Glimmer held her ground, matching the glare.
"Because of you," She began. "Adora has suffered so much," Glimmer hissed. Catra blinked widely once, her eyes quickly narrowing into slits. "She is injured and in pain because of you!" Glimmer jabbed a finger, hard into Catra's chest. Instead of potentially biting her finger, scratching her arm, or worse, Catra stumbled back, hissing.
Glimmer narrowed her eyes, cocking her head slightly. A smirk began to form. "You're hurt... aren't you?" She walked in a circle. Catra scoffed, rolling her shoulders. "Trust me, Princess, this'd be the last place I go if I were," Glimmer continued to smirk. "Ok," She said, stepping back. "You won't mind if I do this then?"
"Do what?" Catra snapped. Glimmer flinched forward, feigning a jab. Catra, of course, lept back with a yowl, clutching at her ribs. Glimmer raised an eyebrow, watching as the magicat tried to recompose herself. Eventually, Catra swallowed heavily. "So what if I'm injured? Surely that's something you'd like? You seem different to the other Princesses... a thirst for revenge that they don't have,"
Glimmer rolled her eyes. "I'm not up for your mind tricks, Horde scum," She sighed. Catra didn't answer, glaring at the window she'd previously attempted to reach. "I've half a mind to leave you out here to rot," Glimmer leaned against her staff. "Then do it. I've survived this long, Sparkles," Catra snapped. Glimmer paused for a moment. "But Adora would have my head if I left you out here to die," She sighed heavily. Catra's ears twitched; the only giveaway she'd heard, or cared, about what Glimmer said.
"Would she? We didn't exactly end on the best of terms," Glimmer narrowed her eyes as Catra inspected her claws. She chose to sigh instead; not aiming for a fight this early in the day. "Oh, I know... believe me, I know," Glimmer's mind was thrown to the hundred stitches currently holding her best friend together, blood dripping down, staining her back in angry rivers of red.
Glimmer shook her head.
Catra shivered.
The Moonstone Princess sighed angrily, kicking the edge of her staff as she held it tightly. "Look. I'm offering this once, and once only," She refused to look at Adora's ex-best friend. "So do with that what you will," She finished. Adora was right about how expressive the magician's ears were. They were the only thing to truly give away what the feline was thinking. "I owe you nothing..." She paused. "But I owe Adora a lot... so... for her... I'm offering you the chance to be healed in private. Nobody you don't want to will know you're here,"
Catra clearly hesitated. Glimmer tapped her foot. "Shift change is soon. Make your mind up," She snapped. Catra sniffed disdainfully. "Fine. But to be clear, I'm not doing this for her. I'm doing this for me. Then I'm gone,"
Glimmer shrugged. "No skin off my back. The sooner you're gone, the sooner I can go back to really hating you,"

"This is very pink," Was Catra's first thought. Glimmer shrugged. "You should see my mom's room,"
Even Glimmer, whose whole regime was pink and purple, thought her mom had too much pink. The floor was pink, the walls were pink, the window linings, the curtains, the shower, the light, the light cast, the bed, whatever you can name. Even the water colour was lit up pink.
"And anyway, this is the least pink room in the castle," Glimmer shut the door, twisting the lock. "Lemme guess, this is your room?" Catra sniped. Glimmer snorted, gesturing to her outfit, then to the bed. "You really think, with my outfit, that I'd be in a room this plain? Or the bed not as comfy? Please, Catra," She crossed her ankles. Catra's eyes widened as the penny dropped. "This is where Adora sleeps... isn't it?" She looked around, wrinkling her nose. "Yup. But she's otherwise..." She paused for a word. "Engaged at the minute,"
Glimmer was saving the "you critically injured Adora and now she's in a fuck tone of pain right now" card for when she absolutely needed it.
Catra narrowed her eyes. "With more She-Ra shit?" Glimmer shrugged. Catra rolled her eyes. "This room has a special lock on it," She said. "Only Adora, myself and Bow know the passcode to get in," She flicked her wrist, sending the staff to her own bedroom. "Which effectively acts as a holding cell until you're healed and out of my hair," Catra snorted. "Oh, Princess. Adora is nothing if not predictable. I know what the passcode is. It's her favourite number,"
Which, in turn, was Catra's favourite number, Glimmer remembered a slightly inebriated Adora confessing one night.
"Whatever it is, I wouldn't leave. Every single Rebellion fighter has strict orders to arrest and detain you on sight, by whatever means necessary," She paused. "That includes magic intervention or other painful weapons," Catra chuckled softly. "You'd be good in the Horde," She ran her finger along Adora's bed. "You couldn't pay me enough anything to join the Horde... ever,"
Catra shrugged. Glimmer took a steadying breath. "I'd get some sleep. The healer will be here tomorrow morning. Early," She warned. Catra narrowed her eyes. "Isn't Adora coming back tonight? Won't she have questions?" She sat. Glimmer scoffed. "Since when do you care where Adora is and what she does or thinks?" Catra hesitated and for the briefest of briefest seconds, Glimmer saw a spark of a concerned friend, worried for her friend's health.
Glimmer sighed softly. "I didn't wanna do this now..." She shuddered slightly, her mind thrown back to the severely wounded form of her best friend. "She's in the infirmary,"
Catra's facade crumbled for a split second. "Why? Did her tiara slip?" She snapped, wrapping her arms tightly around herself. Glimmer shook her head. "She'll be back in her room probably tomorrow morning. You'll see for yourself," She turned to leave, unlocking the door. "Seriously. Sleep. Adora will have my ass if you die,"
