summary: what happens when one of the ninja has an encounter with a hybrid who has the element of shadow?
cole pov
the streets were silent as I walked them, it was my night to patrol the city, and let's just say I wasn't too happy about it. today was meant to be my day off but I guess that message hadn't gotten out to the others because here I was walking the dark streets of Ninjago city when I could have been playing video games with my team. I just didn't see the point why one of us had to patrol the city each night, crime rates were at an all-time low right now so there was nothing to do while I was out here, it also didn't help that tomorrow was Wednesday so me and my team will have sunrise exercise. I had wanted one of the others to come with me for this because well it is nice to have someone to talk to but none of them wanted to. suddenly an icy wind wiped passed me sending chills racing through my entire body, but the strange thing was that it didn't feel like normal wind it was calculated and controlled it was elemental. suddenly there was another one but this time I saw that I wasn't the wind at all, instead it was a shadow? but as I looked around I saw no one around who could possibly casting it. I then spotted it again this time near an alleyway before it disappeared into the darkness. I wasn't sure what to do, part of me wanted to follow it and see where it was coming from but the other part me me was telling me to just ignore it and keep patroling. I waited for a moment contemplating my choices when suddenly it reappeared in the same spot before yet again disappearing into the darkness once more, did it want me to follow it, and if so why? I waited for another minute wanting to see if I would come back and it did this time it faced me directly and I could feel a pair of eyes on me, but at the same time, I couldn't see any. it was only as it escaped back into the darkness I finally gave in.
cole - hey, wait up!
but as I finally got around the alleyway I didn't see it, it was then I began to consider the possibility that had just been imagining the whole ordeal entirely and I mentally face-palmed. now I was kind of glad that no one had come with me, they would probably say that tell me that I was seeing things and that the problem was that I just wasn't getting enough sleep. suddenly the shadow reappeared at the end of the alleyway and my heartbeat sped up, so I wasn't just imagining things. the shadow then went over the wall and I followed suit. Once over the wall, I searched the area for the shadow and I spotted it heading around a corner.
cole - wait up! where are you taking me? what are you?
but it was as I came closer to the corner I heard voices and I stopped to listen.
scales - pythor I would advise that you give up on your fansites of destroying the ninja, I think that by now that they are too powerful for either of us to defeat!
pythor - nonsense! I have a plan that will work if we just get our hands on some vengestone-
scales - and what is Vengestone going to do to help us, yes it may block out their elemental powers but Lloyd has something else to counter that, I've seen it his eyes turn purple and he gets this kind of dark energy. what are you going to do if that happens huh?
pythor - oh please what are even the chances of that ever happening, it sounds to me that you worry too much.
scales - I worry too much!? I'm just trying to protect my family from getting caught in the crossfire of your selfish actions. I also have no desire to destroy the ninja ever since that saved my home for those nindroids I have had some respect for them!
pythor - since when have you had any respect for the ninja, if you really did then you wouldn't be working for me right now! why all those years did you fight against them and beside me?
scales - I'm not working for you, I'm just making sure that you don't come up with a plan that will blow this city to hell! do you have any idea how many times this city has been under attack, at this point I won't be surprised if we get attacked by space pirates next! I'm trying to enjoy the piece while I still can.
pythor - but peace is just so well peaceful, where's the fun in any of that? look I'm telling you that this plan will work, I will just need to get my hands on a lot of vengestone and everything will be smooth sailing.
scales - oh like when you got your hands on the 4 fang blades and released the great devourer, like that went well! look I can't stop you but I will no longer partake in your foolish attempts to destroy the only people holding this city together!
the voices then faded into nothing as scales slithered off, so pythor was planning something that needed vengestone but the real question was where was he going to get all this vengestone? but better yet who was disturbing it, If I could find out who was distributing it then I could shut down the entire operation . for a second I thought about asking pythor myself if you know what I mean and getting the answers out of him but I couldn't do that, because I didn't have any truths tea on me and there was a very large chance that he could lie. instead, I would have me and my team follow him and then we could find out who is disturbing it see who they are connected to, and shut down the entire operation. it was then I remembered what had led me here in the first place and I turned to thank the strange shadow, but when I turned to face the shadow it wasn't there but instead in its place stood a girl. she was a wearing black and gray sleeveless GI, and she had silky brown hair with white highlights on the top of her hair. She had snow-white eyes that seemed to glow in the dark like the moon in the clear night sky they had a light going through each of them, and the rest of her facial features were hidden beneath a black mask but the two things that intrigued Cole the most was that she seemed to have wolf ears and pair of midnight black horns on top of her head. she was a hybrid. she just stared at cole with sharp eyes before seeming disappearing into the night, as silent as a shadow.
