"Let's go, Tigers! Let's go, Tigers!" Everyone was cheering as Lexi stood next to Nancy. The brunette took out a notebook and a pencil and the principal walked in. "Everyone now please rise for our national anthem. Singing for us tonight, we have a very special guest. All the way from Nashville, our very own Tammy Thompson!"

"Go, Tammy! We love you, Tammy!" Everyone cheered and Lexi waited for her to start singing. "O say, can you see .By the dawn's early light ramparts we watched. And the rocket's red glare. The bombs bursting in air. Gave proof through the night. That our flag was still there .O say, does that star-spangled..."

After she started singing, Lexi winced. "I don't want to be selfish or anything, but I could've sang that much better." Nancy chuckled and nodded slightly. Tammy finally stopped singing and the players walked in. The game could begin.

"Push 'em back, defense! Push 'em back... Hey! Yo, you gotta stay on 'em." Nancy kept taking notes on the game and in Lexi's opinion, it wasn't really interesting. That was until one of the players was pushed and hurt his leg.

"Sinclair, you're in. You're in. Son, let's go!" The coach shouted and Lexi started paying attention. She really wanted Lucas to score some points. They kept tossing the ball to each other, until there were a few seconds left.

Lucas caught the ball and flung it into the basket. The whole crowd stood up and Lexi got on her tip toes, to see if he made the shot. The ball really landed in the basket and Lexi screamed. Luckily, no one really heard her, since the whole crowd began cheering. "Lucas! Lucas! Lucas! Lucas!"

After the basketball players placed Lucas back on the ground, Lexi walked to him and gave him a hug. "Oh my god, you did it!" He chuckled. "I did it. I really did."

Ever since Lexi moved to the Wheeler's, she spent almost every day with Nancy. And that didn't change today. She actually shouldn't be in the school with Nancy, but who cares? They were minding their own bussiness, until someone shushed them, to watch the news.

"We also don't yet know if foul play was involved. But whatever has occurred here is sure to touch a nerve across Hawkins." The reporter said. "Ever since that girl, Barb, died a few years ago, it has been one thing after another. I'll tell ya, you start to believe all those things they say, that this town is cursed, that the devil lives here in Hawkins." Lexi started to get worried about Max, but then thought about the fact, that she spoke to her on the phone that morning.

"Nancy!" Fred, Nancy's coworker tried to snap her out of her thoughts. Lexi had no idea who Barb is, but she agreed with the woman. This town is cursed. "I don't think anyone's gonna care about the basketball game anymore." Lexi shrugged.

"Nancy? Earth to Nancy." She finally turned to him. "What?" She asked him in an annoyed tone. "She said I don't think anyone's gonna care about the game." He repeated Lexi's game. "Yeah. No, I know. Would you be up for a field trip?" He turned to the blonde, who shrugged and nodded at Nancy.

"What's our game plan?" Fred asked after some silence in the car. "Game plan?" Nancy raised her brows. "Yeah. When you and Jonathan investigated for Hawkins Post, did you split up or?" He suggested. "Well, first of all, you're not Jonathan. Neither of you."

"Clearly not. I'm here, present and accounted for." Lexi's eyes widened. "I've gone through a lot of managing editors. Okay?" Lexi loved this conversation. "Damn." She muttered. "Ooh, somebody's testy."

"I'm annoyed he's not here. Okay? Is that what you wanna hear? And yeah, something's going on with him. But that's not the mystery we're investigating today. A student died. The game plan is for you to let me do the talking, for you to take notes, and for you to follow my lead" at all times. And for Lexi to just follow us and maybe observe, I don't know. Is that understood?

"Totally and completely." Fred nodded. "Yes ma'am." Lexi saluted. "Shit. Slow down, slow down." Lexi's eyes widened a little, when she saw all of the police cars. "Just act casual. And follow your lead." She stopped. "Got it."

"Hi, officer." She rolled down her window. "Can't get through. Got a crime scene." Lexi sighed. "Yeah, um, I... I was just going to... Um..." Nancy tried to find some excuse. "We're here to see my friend. Max Mayfield. She lives right there." She pointed at a house. "Her mom will return from work later today, so she asked us to check on her. To see if everything's okay."

"We're restricting access to residents only." He sighed. "We're basically her nanny. Nannies." He then zoned out and Lexi furrowed her brows. "You all right there?" The officer asked him. "What?" He snapped out of his thoughts. "I said, you all right, kid. You're looking a little peaked."

"Fine. I'm fine." Fred nodded. "He's just, um, on edge. I mean, we all are." Nancy covered up for him. "I'll let you check on your friend, but be fast. Yeah?" He smiled at them. "Of course, officer. Thank you."

"Okay, what was that?" Lexi asked him, annoyed but worried. "I said act casual." Nancy agreed. "Yeah, it's just... Sorry."

They finally got out of the car and Nancy began interviewing some people with Lexi and Fred following her. "Um, hi, I'm Nancy Wheeler from the Hawkins Tiger..." They were starting to feel hopeless. "I've talked to enough reporters. Yeah."

Nancy sighed as they walked away. "What about that one? With the flag?" Lexi asked Fred. "Yeah, I tried them twice. They were actually quite rude. I am not doing that again. I'm telling you, we've talked to everyone."

"Nope. Not everyone." Nancy started walking away and stopped in front of a dog. "Hi there. Hi.
Did you see something last night, huh? Oh, you wanna tell us everything?" Lexi chuckled and kneeled in front of him and petted him as well. "Nancy, Lexi, come on. Let's get outta here."

"But he's just the cutest little witness." Lexi smiled and Nancy nodded. "Stay here." Nancy suddenly stated, but Lexi didn't listen. They walked to some man, who smoked a cigarette. "Hi. Uh, I'm a friend of Max Mayfield's, over there. You're Wayne Munson, aren't you? Eddie's uncle?"

"That's right." He confirmed. "I heard you found the body. The neighbors, they were..." She didn't know how to finish that sentence. "Like to gossip. And I'm not interested in gossiping no more. Certainly not to a reporter."

"What gave me away? Look, let me level with you, Mr. Munson. The paper that I write for is... small. We don't have the staff to keep up with the big guys. And I'm just... looking for something, anything really, about what happened last night."

"Why? Far as I can tell, you all have it figured out already. My nephew's a freak. He killed that girl. Ain't that about right?" He scoffed. "Let me guess. You've been speaking to the Hawkins Post? Chuck Bailey? Yeah, I used to work with him. I mean, that guy doesn't know his ass from his elbow. Let me tell your side of the story."

"My nephew, he may look dangerous, but he didn't do this. It just... ain't in his nature. No matter what anyone says, and they will say things, believe you me. But... This... wasn't Eddie. The man who did this... Who killed that poor girl, he's... Pure evil."

"Man? You think you know who might've done this?" Lexi butted in. "You ever hear the name Victor Creel?" The two girls looked at each other, clueless. "I guess you're too young, but back when I was a kid, everybody knew the name Victor Creel. He lost his mind. Killed his whole family. Kids and wife. Took their eyes. Cut 'em right out. God. That poor girl I found this morning, same exact thing. So I'm thinking maybe he broke out."

"Victor Creel is still alive?" Nancy furrowed her brows. "They locked him away in Pennhurst Asylum. Yeah, as far as I know, he's still there. That is, unless he broke out. Like that... What's his name? White mask and killed the babysitters? Michael Myers? Yeah, Michael Myers. You ask me, Victor's like that. He's a real boogeyman."

Nancy looked behing her and tugged at Lexi's sleeve. "Um, we'll be right back." Lexi furrowed her brows, until she realised, why was Nancy so concerned. Fred wasn't there. "Fred? Fred! Fred! Fred? Fred?" The two girls kept shouting.

"Fred! Fred!" Lexi tapped Nancy's shoulder when she noticed a man. The two girls walked to him. "Excuse me. Hi. Excuse me, sorry. Have you seen my friend wandering around? Uh, nerdy, glasses, scar on his face?"

"No, sorry." They walked away and noticed a cop. "Hi, officer? Officer?" He turned towards them. "What are you still doing here?" He asked them. "My... our friend from the car earlier, I... I can't find him."

"What do you mean?" He shook his head slightly. "He was there and then he was just gone and... Did you maybe see him leave with somebody or...?" Nancy asked him and he sighed. "I told you kids to go home. Jesus Christ. This is Glenn. We might have a situation here."

Lexi thought she heard someone screaming her name and she looked behind her and saw a forest. "Nance." She pointed to the forest and walked into it. The blonde walked quickly through the forest and got to a road. She looked up and saw a body drop from the air. She put a hand to her mouth to muffle a scream that came out.

Nancy heard her and ran to her. Even the officers probably heard her, since they ran to them after a minute or two. Lexi looked at his body, horrified.
