It was a few days later once more, and it was once again a dready morning at school. Clouds hung over the sky, a pure cotton blanket. However, Victoria still did not want to risk walking in sunlight, and so they met in the library.

Chris was in a bit of a sour mood. "I can't believe he did that to me!" He exclaimed, kicking his feet.

"Boys can be cruel," Victoria sighed. "That's why I date girls."

"You're a lesbian," Chris pointed out. "I wish I didn't like boys sometimes because all boys around here are such assholes! But then again, girls can be such bitches."

"I hope I'm not a bitch," Penelope said.

"You're that bitch. Not a bitch," Chris said.

"Thank you," she replied.

"No problem. You're perfect. But anyways. I met him in the stands and we were totally flirting. I asked him if he wanted to sit with me and he said sure. And we watched the game together. And then he said: let's meet up behind the bleachers," Chris said.

"So I thought I was going to get somewhere. And then he stood me up," he continued. He then leaned back and crossed his arms. "Should have known better than to trust a boy from Ford again."

"Fool me once, fool me twice, fool me three times," Penelope mused. "How many times has it been?"

"You're right. It's only eight more months until graduation, and then I'll go to college and kiss all the boys I want," Chris told Penelope. Penelope highly doubted that he'd be able to keep his composure for that long. Hot boys who showed moderate intest to Chris was to him what a flame was to a moth.

The bell rang, and the day progressed. It was a normal day. In religion, Aubrey shot both Victoria and Penelope glares, which they attempted to ignore. In gym class, their coach seemed a bit estranged. Penelope felt guilty into prying into her relationship with Ashton the day prior. Maybe that was the reason why she was acting so off.

In french, her final class of the day, the PA system crackled to life. "Penelope Black, please report to the principal's office."

Penelope gulped. She had never been called down there before, as she had never gotten into trouble. She hoped she wasn't in trouble, because if she was, the principal was not a forgiving person. She grit her teeth as she tugged her bag over her shoulder.

She walked down the hall. The light from the skylights reflected from the floor, and turned the hallway an amber color.

As she walked, she dug her fingers into her leg as she tried to figure out what it could be for. Maybe someone had seen her and Victoria close together. If that was the case, she knew there were anti-queer discrimination laws in her state. Her parents would fight for her.

Maybe it was something with Aubrey. Academic dishonesty for initially leaving her name off of the project.

Or maybe, it was something to do with the disappearances. They may have found Heidi's body, and a police officer would be waiting in the office to tell her. She remembered then - Heidi's body had still not been found. Her parents had nothing to bury.

Another reason to solve this as fast as possible, Penelope thought to herself as she reached the front offices. She went inside, and went down the hallway to the chairs in front of the principal's office.

She was shocked to see Victoria there with her. Victoria looked at her with a worried glance. Neither of them talked, knowing that the people in the office would listen to what they were saying. It's about us, she thought. What else could it be about?
