the boy hides himself
behind long hair and glasses
sometimes dresses, too,
when he has to,
he's trapped in a shell,
the body of a woman
and nobody seems to know
he's there
he calls himself a tomboy,
because that's it,
right?
but he knows,
he knows it's not
and then he sees,
on the news,
a story, some famous celebrity dude,
woman, now,
or, always been,
is coming out,
and suddenly, he's not ashamed
of himself anymore,
he tells his parents
they hug him
and he wonders why he thought
it was so hard
after all
