"Are you satisfied?" I shouted at his retreating back.
We'd just returned to Kaden's place, and I marched straight into his study, shooting him a fierce glare. The others trailed in behind me, their smirks almost too much to bear.
He ignored me, casually tossing his jacket aside and flopping onto the couch.
"You've got some nerve, dragging me there and humiliating me in front of everyone," I scolded, crossing my arms and standing my ground in the doorway.
AJ, Lucy, and Ben strolled in, taking seats around Kaden, all of them grinning at me.
"Did you forget what I told you before we went in?" Kaden said lazily as I approached him.
"Did you forget this wasn't part of our agreement?" I shot back.
"Aww, Kaden, why'd you break her promise?" Ben teased, earning a glare from me.
"Shut up," Kaden said, looking back at me. "Just chill. It's over now, isn't it? Come here."
I stayed put, narrowing my gaze at him.
"I'm out."
I turned to leave, but Ben swiftly stood and blocked my way, making me stumble back in surprise.
"I don't think so," he drawled, smirking at me.
I shot him a glare and slowly turned back to Kaden.
"Sit. Down," he ordered.
I clenched my jaw in annoyance, but before I could refuse, Ben pushed me down, and I ended up in Kaden's lap. His arms wrapped around my waist, preventing me from falling.
I tried to push myself up, but he held me firmly, my backside resting on his lap, my arm slung over his shoulder.
"I asked nicely," he teased, and I rolled my eyes, begrudgingly staying in place.
I was so irritated; I felt like punching them all for ganging up on me.
Bunch of jerks.
Except Lucy, though. She was as nonchalant as ever.
"Get out, all of you," Kaden snapped, and I shot him a surprised look.
His friends did the same.
"Yo, we just got here," Ben complained.
"I need a moment with Stephanie. Alone," Kaden replied, and I frowned at him.
He turned his face towards me, locking eyes with me. I clenched my jaw and tried to pull away, but his grip tightened around my waist.
"Alright, whatever," Ben said, leaving first.
AJ followed, and Lucy gave us a long stare before slowly getting up from the armchair.
"Keep the noise down. I want to enjoy some quiet time reading," Kaden scoffed next to me.
"The walls are soundproof, Luce. And since when do you read?" I added.
She just rolled her eyes and walked out of the room. The door finally closed, and I pushed Kaden's arms off me before getting up.
"You really pissed me off today."
"Did I?" he retorted, swinging his arm back on the couch.
"Learn to take a joke, will you? I didn't want to meet your father, let alone get embarrassed by him. So whatever happened today should be the last."
