It was Saturday evening and the moon cast a bright moonlight on all the houses in the town.  Haerin was in the car of Minji, one of her friends who was accompanying her to a party.  She felt really embarrassed at the thought of having to go to that party, but she couldn't refuse the invitation since she was her best friend, Hyein.  Minji told him that she should be happy as Hyein is a rather reserved girl and not a fan of partying in a big way.  Haerin got out of the car right in front of Hyein's house, hoping that Minji would reverse the car and tell him to get in and go get something to eat together but she already knew that the car had already made it halfway to the end of the street.  Courageously, leaving some inhibitions in the corner of her, she knocked on the door holding her heart squeezing in her chest.  Hyein opened the door.  Behind her was Hanni, her older sister.  She was looking for someone but she frustratingly retreated from view as soon as she saw that the only person in front of the door was Haerin.  "Finally! When did you want to come? To the cutting of the cake?"  she asked the girl playfully, taking his shoulders and inviting her to come in quickly before she could escape.  Hyein had invited a few people, almost twenty, but for Haerin it seemed like too many.  Hanni sat on the sofa next to a boy, completely ignoring him and inviting Hyein to sit next to her.  Haerin cringed as she was left alone by her friend.  She looked around for some help or escape.  She still held her phone in her trembling hands: she still had time to call Minji to come pick her up.  Then as if fate wanted to play with her confused feelings, a wonderful figure passed in front of her hastily throwing herself on the sofa with a sweet and playful smile while with his hands he tried to tickle Hyein's neck, who rightly protected herself with some cushions.  Haerin blinked her eyelids several times, wondering in his mind whether that creature existed or was a figment of her imagination.  She was such a slender and tender girl to look at that her eyes found it hard to believe that this girl could have the strength to be adorably attractive too.  She had never seen that girl before.  Her eyes were soft and formed a playful smile every time she closed them.  Her little hands fluttered in the air like butterflies looking for support.  The smile on her lips lit up the atmosphere along with her cheeks tinted a creamy pink.  Her face was pale and like that of an American pop star.  She seemed like a stranger to Haerin: both in her face and in her unearthly beauty.  She really wanted to talk to him but his feet remained still in place.  Hanni stared at her for a while seeing how the girl had placed her eyes on that girl.  She knew well how strange Haerin was sometimes: she had seen the girl's behavior several times when she came to her house to play with her little sister.  She always seemed dull even though Hyein invited her to have fun.  Yet this evening she fucked illuminated by something divine, as if she had seen a goddess come down from heaven who was freeing her from her emotions crushed by a stone.  "Did she accompany you Minji, Haerin?"  Hyein asked as soon as she had time to speak after that frantic fight between that girl and her soul in danger.  "Yes, she wanted to accompany me at all costs" said the girl.  Hanni bit her lip in anger and then stomped her feet in the air, even though there was nothing in front of her.  "Meet Danielle" said Hyein, taking Haerin by the hand so that she could move closer to the girl who was now sitting on the sofa and with a smile on her lips waiting for her friend to introduce her.  "Danielle is a friend mostly known through Hanni. You know, they met in Australia when they were on an educational trip. Then she introduced me to her as soon as they both returned to Seoul" said Hyein, carefully explaining the story of her acquaintance to him .  Danielle stood up with that smile still on her lips, offering a handshake.  Haerin accepted it with some hesitation, "I already know everything about you, Haerin. Hyein only talks about you when you're not around!"  said the girl.  Haerin felt a shock that went through his entire body until it reached his head.  The girl's sweet and delicate voice drove her crazy that she could even call herself destroyed and throw herself on the ground asking for a truce so that she could recover from the shock: she couldn't believe that that girl was perfect in every way.  "She also talks about how kind you are to everyone" she commented again putting her hands behind her back swinging her body with her legs.  She seemed to see some celebrity in front of her eyes who was teasing her for fun.  Danielle always held that smile that she turned to Hyein asking with her eyes if she was born with that smile.  Hyein pushed her towards the sofa telling him that it was better to sit down and not stay up all the time.  Danielle followed the two, placing herself next to Hanni, who after all that time the boy had left seeing how that girl was so furious for some strange reason.  "You look like a little kitten," Danielle commented, touching his nose casually, laughing at her own joke.  Hyein looked at her confused while Haerin tried to remain intact to such an act of the girl.  "Do you like cats? I do, a lot," the girl said again, placing a hand on her chest as a sign of sincerity.  "Yes," Haerin replied a little embarrassed.  "What a beautiful voice! She IS so pretty, just like you! Hyein wasn't wrong to say that" the girl commented again.  Haerin felt himself dying as his cheeks formed a dark, burning blush that could cook an egg.  He couldn't believe Danielle was complimenting her so casually, as if she'd said it a thousand times before.  The evening was no more than difficult for Haerin, bearing his heart was something imaginable as he jumped every time when he saw Danielle smile at him.  He could stay as long as he wanted even when he talked to Hyein or Hanni, but his thoughts were always on that lively and loving girl.  He kept his eyes on that girl every chance she got.  But the party ended so quickly that Haerin didn't even realize that Minji was waiting for her right outside Hyein's house.  As soon as she informed the three of them, who were comfortably chatting about this and that, Hyein jumped on Haerin and told him to stay a little longer.  Hanni, on the other hand, didn't have to be told twice that Minji was outside her house, instead she ran towards the door eager to see her.  Danielle, on the other hand, was standing in her place looking a little disappointed.  Haerin looked at her for a while not knowing what to say.  Maybe her silence could comfort her, as it sometimes did for her.  She really wanted to tell him either something like how her heart had tormented his evening just at the thought that her smile might be in his sight, or how her voice rang in her ears like a forbidden melody. .  She wanted to tell him about her feelings but that evening she wanted to keep secrets in her heart.  Besides, she didn't want to make the atmosphere frustrating, but she at least wanted to say something to him before leaving. "You're really beautiful when you smile," Haerin came to say as soon as he approached the girl.  The grimace on her face disappeared all at once: her famous smile repositioned itself on her lips.  Haerin said nothing more.  He stained her cheeks red again hoping no one would see, especially Danielle who was looking at her dreamily.  "See you Haerin, don't forget about me" Danielle whispered, stroking the knuckles of the girl's hands.  Haerin could only nod: he didn't want to open his mouth or he would make some strange embarrassing sound because of that celestial touch.  Hyein accompanied her to the door, calling her sister, who was lively talking to Minji with an embarrassed expression, so that she could enter inside her.  Haerin sat down in the car seat.  Minji kindly greeted Hyein and Hanni from the car with the window down, then she started the car while looking at Haerin's flushed face for a while.  "Did they slap you for some strange obligation?"  the girl asked, laughing at the same question as her.  The car continued to move forward as if nothing had happened while Haerin's heart beat like the ninth time it had ever beaten before.  Standing straight as a branch, he kept his hands on her legs, squeezing them with the anxiety that was coursing through his beautiful veins.  "I fell in love," the girl finally said.  Minji's eyes widened as she braked the car on the empty town street.  "What!?"  she said, raising her voice a little.  Haerin stood still and sighed.  She looked at the moon which still had the energy to spread that bright light among the houses as if it were a magic dust placed on the tiles of the houses.  He wondered if Danielle's smile was as bright and beautiful as the moonlight.  She nodded to herself having a worrying question from Minji seeing her talking to herself.  She turned her head towards the rolled down window feeling the wind on her face even though the car was stopped.  She really wanted to stop her emotions but somehow she didn't mind this loving feeling.
