MONDAY
I sit under my doorstep in the pouring rain, covering my head with my bag. I stupidly forgot my keys this morning and my mom wouldn't be home for another hour. I'd knocked on Logan's door but no one answered and there wasn't a car on the drive.
Just when I'm about to freeze to death a car comes down the street. Quinn's. He pulls on his drive and climbs out his car.
"Madeline?" He yells to me over the loud rain. "What the hell are you doing out here?"
"I forgot my keys." I call back, holding my bag tight over my head.
"Come on. Logan's at our grandparents but I'll put us some tea on." He says and waves me over.
I run over with the bag still over my head while the rain pounds down on it. He unlocks the door and guides me in.
"Thanks." I say once he closes the door. He rakes a hand through his wet hair, ruffling it back into its usual state. "No problem, god you must be freezing." I follow him into the living room. He glanced at my soaked clothes, "I'll get you some of Logan's clothes. She won't mind."
I nod, "Okay, thank you."
He disappears upstairs and comes back down with a pair of joggers and a hoodie.
"You can change in the bathroom. I'll put tea on." He hands me the clothes and I walk into the bathroom, closing the door behind me.
When I come back he walks into the living room at the same time and places two mugs on the table.
"Do you want anything to eat?" He asks."No thanks." I sit down on the couch while Quinn leans down in front of the fireplace and lights a fire, instantly warning me up although I was still shivering.
"You're going to get sick." Quinn says, wrapping a blanket over my shoulders. "You alright?"
"Yeah." I say.
"Do you know when your mom will be back?" He sits down on the other side of the couch.
"Probably not for another hour." I reply, holding the blanket tight around me.
"You can stay here. Logan should be back in about half an hour." He says and sips from his tea.
I grab my mug and wrap two hands around it, the heat warming up my palms. I sip from it and let out a small involuntary moan. oh my god. I didn't drink tea all that much in America but this was most definitely the best tea I'd ever tasted.
"I take it you like the tea?" Quinn asks with a smirk.
I nod, drinking more which makes Quinn chuckle.
"Do you want to watch a film or something?" He asks.
"Yeah. What'd you have?" I ask, shifting in my seat.
