MONDAY

I'm convinced I have something on my face. Logan has been staring at me with a smug look for about five minutes now. I wiped my face with the back of my hand and there's nothing there. So now I'm thinking maybe Logan's daydreaming, but then her eyes flicker to Quinn in the front seat and back to me with a bigger smile.

"Are you okay?" I ask her, raising an eyebrow.

"I'm fantastic." She replies with the grin not leaving her face.

"You're being creepy."

"She's been like that all morning. I'm convinced she's developed some kind of insanity." Quinn says, his eyes glancing up to the front view mirror.

Logan rolls her eyes, "I am not insane."

"Debatable." Quinn pulls into the school parking lot and reverses into a space. His hand flexes on the clutch as he pulls it back and the engine cuts out. Why does he have such attractive hands? Logan and I get out of the car and I thank him for the ride, noticing how he glances at the necklace he brought me lying against my collarbone. If I'm being completely honest, I haven't actually taken it off yet since he gave it to me.

I walk to Chemistry, sitting at the back as usual and try to clear my mind and focus on taking notes. By the end of the class I have half a page of notes and a stomach full of butterflies.

"Are you guys going to the rugby match on Saturday?" Phoebe asks.

"Kinda don't have a choice considering my brother's on the team." Logan replies, sitting across the table with her tray. "The only upside is I get to see the cheerleaders."

"I'm going with Olivia and her parents." Rowan says, followed by Phoebe saying she'll be there too.

I'm mid in thought when they all stare at me and I snap back into reality.

"You're coming right? It'll be your first rugby game, they're always really fun." Olivia says.

"Uh, I'm not sure. I'll ask my mom about it." I reply. Me at a sports game would be like seeing an elephant in a box. Completely out of place.

-

"Mom, can I go to the rugby game on Saturday?"

"You want to go to a rugby game?" She looks at me like I've gone insane and I don't blame her. "Voluntarily?"

"My friends are going and Quinn's on the team." I say.

"Ah, right." She says in a mocking tone.

"He's my friend and I'd like to be there, problem?"

"Nope. I can drop you off before I go to get my hair done." She grins and pecks my cheek before walking towards the direction of her bedroom.

I head upstairs to my bathroom and take a shower. I change into pyjamas, braid my hair and climb into bed, picking up my current read 'A Little Life' until my phone pings at my side.

Hey
I was wondering if I could borrow another book if it's alright with you?

Of course. Which book are you looking for?

Not sure. I have a book report due on a book of my choice but I don't own any books other than Harry Potter and Percy Jackson, got any recommendations?

That makes me laugh as I start to reply,

My favourites always been the Bell Jar, plus it's a good book to do a review on. I can get it to you tomorrow.

That sounds great
Thanks shortcake.

Not short.

:)

I bite down on my bottom lip to suppress the grin creeping up and power off my phone, returning my attention back to my book.
