FRIDAY

I knock on the door of Logan's house, fidgeting with my hoodie drawstring. Maybe I'm too early. Is it Friday?

The door opens and a dark haired woman wearing a red apron stands in the doorway. "Hi dear! You must be Madeline. I'm Logan's mom, the girls are just in the living room to the left." Mrs Foster smiles and ushers me in. "Are you alright with fish and chips?"

It took me a second to realise she meant chips as in fries. "Yeah, that's fine. It's nice to meet you." I say, taking off my shoes and putting them to the side.

"You too, lovely. You can go right in, they're just deciding on a film." She says and vanishes back into the kitchen.

I walk down the hall and into the room on the left where Logan, Phoebe, Rowan and Olivia are sitting around the coffee table with dvds spread out on it.

"Madeline! Yes, we need another voter." Logan beams, patting the spot next to her.

I sit down and Phoebe lays out two dvds. "We narrowed it down to Mean Girls and Clueless. What'd you think?"

"Mean Girls sounds good." I say.

"Yes!" Rowan and Logan high five me.

"Mean Girls it is." Phoebe says, taking it out the case and placing it in the dvd player. Logan puts away the other discs and we sit on the two couches with blankets and pillows.

About fifteen minutes through the movie Logan's mom comes in with the fish and chips.

"Quinn, come get food!" She calls up the stairs.

Quinn comes down the hall and into the living room, "I hate English." He grabs a plate and sits down on the armchair. He smiles slightly when he notices me.

"What'd you have to do?" Logan asks, chopping up her fish.

"I have to write a report for The Odyssey but I was supposed to get an annotated copy from the library but I forgot and there's none left so I have to analyse it myself. And It's taking me ages because I can't read a single page without the words messing up." He finishes.

"Oh. Sucks to be you." Logan says before returning to her food.

"You're so helpful." He replies sarcastically.

"I have an annotated copy. You can use it." I say.

"You just casually have an annotated copy of The Odyssey?" Logan asks, raising an eyebrow in a teasing manner.

I shrug, "I like annotating my books."

"Well, that'd actually be great if you don't mind." Quinn says.

I nod, "I can bring it over in a bit." I say and start eating my fries. Honestly, I preferred the fries here, they were more potatoey. Not that that's a word.
