I wandered around my town.
The exit back into the human world was pretty easy to find. Well, not find, to be exact. It's quite strange if you think about it.
The lady that works in the garden; she's like a guide. I talked to her, since she looked like she knew about the place. (Of course she did, she was the guide.)
After that, my memory was lost, and I was back in my town. Out of fear, I checked if the alleyway to the garden was still there. It was still there, thank goodness. I guess I just couldn't come back out that way if I entered the garden through the alleyway.
Honestly, being dead was pretty cool. I could go through basically anything. My dizziness was starting to fade away, too. Which was great news for me.
I could finally run. And I did.
It felt amazing.
The bad side was that there was good food laid right in front of my eyes, and I couldn't eat it.
That wasn't the only thing.
The other ghosts; the ghosts that existed through generations. They were creepy.
Some would wail, some were furious. If they noticed me, they would come up to me.
"You.. you can see me?" One ghost-woman asked when I first entered my town again. She grabbed my hand.
"Yes, I can." I had answered, feeling a bit sorry since she was crying. Her hand was cold. Ice-cold. I wondered if my body was as cold as hers right now. "I am a ghost too–"
She started to shake me before I could answer her. "Please help me find my baby... my baby..."
"Ma'am, I don't know–" I started to panic slightly, but she interrupted again.
"He's just a little baby... you can easily cradle in your arms like this–!" She started to curl her arms up and cradle them slightly, as if her baby were lying in her arms. "He has beautiful golden-brown hair like my husband..."
I stared down at her, unable to reply. She started to look a little... psycho.
"My husband... my husband..." She muttered, while still cradling her arms.
Poor woman. She must've suffered a lot, I thought, looking down at her still. She was very small compared to a full-grown woman.
"It was winter..." The woman started to speak again. "I went out to buy some groceries, and my sweet husband told me he'll look after the baby.. I came back shortly after to find out that the baby was missing!"
I had frowned. How did the baby go missing under his father's care? Unless...
A horrible thought crossed my mind as my face went paler than it already was.
"My husband helped me look for the baby... my poor baby... it was cold... my baby was cold... I had to find the baby..." She hummed as if she was talking with a melody.
I quickly fled the scene as the baby's mother tried to grab me by my kimono.
"Please~! Help me find my baby..." Her voice faded away as I got further and further away from her.
Since that incident, I've been avoiding eye contact with any spirit I saw.
The sun was quickly starting to set. I decided to head back to the garden when I heard a pitiful, loud scream.
I was frightened. But then I remembered I was a ghost. What could hurt me? I was basically unstoppable... and possibly untouchable.
I headed straight towards the scream, and ended up by someone's house.
