"Ishii Katashi."
I mumble out his words. His name tastes bitter on my tongue.
All the memories and emotions flood back to me.
He was a disgusting, annoying piece of shi–
"You remember?" Kokushibo cuts off my thoughts.
"I remember his name. But I won't bother trying to recall his ugly features." I shudder at the thought of it.
He ponders in his thoughts for a while. "Do you care about another male's looks?"
"Huh-?! No.. I mean, yes, he was not bad looking, but his personality was ass." I gag.
"Watch your tongue." He scolds with a frown. "Words are powerful tools."
I sheepishly mumble an apology.
"Would you like to go find this Katashi mortal?" He asks, getting up.
"Yes." I nod firmly. "Maybe going to find him will help me recall my memories."
"Let's get going, then." He said as we both got up.
We walked back into my town, and looked around.
Kokushibo pointed at a building that stuck out among the other buildings. "Is that the Ishii's home?"
I squinted my eyes. "Yes.. yes! That is. How did you know?"
He shrugged slightly. "I just assumed."
We both picked up our pace. We were now standing in front of the enormous gate of the Ishii's.
"Will you not get caught–" I mentioned, turning to where Kokushibo was.
But he wasn't there.
"If you're wondering," His voice came from the other side of the gate. "I'm already in their yard, and you're wasting time."
I guess I don't have to worry about him being caught, since he's so quiet when he moves around.
With one step, I went through their gate and met Kokushibo on the other side.
"I feel like I'm breaking in..." I mumbled.
"To say the truth, we are." He said, then noticed my horrified expression, so he added; "but you're a spirit and I'm a demon. We are... out of the frame, I suppose."
I don't know how that strange sentence eased me, but it did.
Kokushibo looked up and spotted a balcony. He easily jumped up without making a single sound.
"Leaving me down here alone, huh?" I crossed my arms, looking up at him, then turned my attention forward again. "How rude—"
I was interrupted when I felt strong arms lift me up as if I was a feather.
Startled, I looked up to see Kokushibo sighing, holding me firmly.
"Stop complaining for once, will you?" He gazed down at me, speaking slowly. "It is childish and irritating."
I was too shocked to speak. My mouth opened and closed multiple times. He frowned slightly, but it looked as if he was trying not to smile the least bit.
"And stop doing that, too. You look foolish, mortal."
I quickly shut my mouth as he jumped up to the balcony, where he let me onto my feet gently and steadily.
Without another word, he opened the balcony door.
He entered, and I followed.
My eyes caught something by the door, shining against the moonlight on the floor.
