Emma

Declan and I have been going on dates for about a month now, Christmas break was just around the corner. I walked to the sliding glass doors with a cup of coffee in my hands. I watched the little snow flakes fall to the ground. After finishing my coffee, I decided to go to the bookstore. I loved this bookstore. It was where Declan had taken me and many years ago my father had taken me here. It was the bigger one of the two bookstores in town.

"Hey, what are you up to on this fine snowy Saturday Emma?" The store clerk asked me. I flashed a friendly smile,"just looking for some more wolf books is all." I came in here so much the two workers knew my name.

"Well just help yourself," he smiled. I searched around until I found one I don't already have. "Maybe this one will have some answers," I said quietly to myself. After checking out I stopped and grabbed breakfast and then headed home. When I pulled up, Declan was just walking up the two stairs onto my porch to knock. I smiled and quickly parked.

"Hey," Declan said.

"Hi, you uh want to come in?" I asked. He nodded and we walked inside.

"Emma, we have been going on dates for about a month so.. I....I was just wondering if you.. wanted to maybe make it official?" Declan stammered.

"Yes! That sounds wonderful yes," I smiled and giggled.

A broad smile carved its way onto his face. He picked me up and kissed me, holding me close to him.

I had this strange, but good feeling. I have never felt this before. It was new and comforting and frightening all at the same time.

Declan put me down and I stood in front of him, his arms still around my waist and my arms (with the book in my hands still) around his neck. I was looking up at him and I couldn't help but smile.

It was now Monday, and Declan came to pick me up for school. He parked and I looked over and smiled at him before we both got out of the car. We walked around to the front of the car and held hands as we walked inside. I could feel everyone's heavy stares.

"Why is everyone staring at us?" I whispered to Declan.

"I would stare to if I saw the most beautiful girl in the world on the strange new guys arm," he whispered back smiling.

I blushed and held slightly tighter to his hand. We just started officially dating two days ago and have been going on dates for a month, but I still have the strange feeling about him that I have had since I first saw him. I don't understand what it is. It's like I feel the need to be close to him and to never let him go.

We walked up to Delilah and her eyes widened. She raised her eyebrows at me and glanced down at our hands. I smiled a wide smile. A curious and shocked smile grew on Delilahs face.

"I'll be right back, I left something in the car," Declan said obviously making up an excuse for Delilah and I to be alone to talk. He kissed my head and walked back the way we came.

"When did that happen?" Delilah gawked and giggled.

"Oh you know, Saturday," I almost mumbled.

"Saturday! You didn't text me to tell me? why not? I'm your best friend! We are supposed to be like sisters, which do not keep secrets from each other miss," Delilah scorned but laughed a bit also.

"Well, I got..distracted," I innocently smiled.

Delilah laughed and playfully punched my arm,"So what happened to not dating and focusing on school because guys are dumb?"
