Awkward Isn't It?

After that moment of awkwardness between Sunny and I, I scuttled off to my work desk to check if there's a list for me to do. I scanned the monitor and oh boy was there a list. "What the actual fuck is this bullshit?" I questioned too loudly because immediately I hear far off in the distance was 'watch your language.' From Sunny, of course. I laughed to myself and thought that was adorable-

My eyes widened. I shook my head fiercely and gently slapped my face for thinking like that. "Animatronics! Stop thinking that Moon and Sunny are cute or even adorable." I told myself. "Moon is an asshole and went too far! And Sunny-... oh fuck this." I muttered to myself, I turned around to see Sunny behind me. Grinning.

I yelped out of surprise in which it surprised Sunny, "What? What is it? Is there something behind me? On my face?" He asked frantically, which made me laugh. "No, no. You just made me jump. That's all." I continued to laugh. Which loosened Sunny up and made him laugh loudly. His laugh is so adorable! I thought as I grinned widely at him. Sunny's sun spikes whirled clockwise a few times.

"My apologies Y/N! I saw you just drifting into thought, and I wondered if the tasks were overloading too much in your head."Sunny apologised.

"Oh no! Sorry, that's not your fault, I'll be able to handle the tasks perfectly fine. It was just... Uh. Don't worry about it." My thoughts raced around in my head and the fact that Sunny was leaning closer to me was making my face flush and I had to look away. I groaned internally for blushing and for drifting into my mind. "What was it?" Sunny asked with curiosity and with the all innocence, he wasn't realising what's happening.

"I uhm... Nothing! I need to get back to work." I quickly mustered up an excuse and felt bad for doing that to Sunny. Furthermore, I even moved out of the way for him to grab my wrist, tightly yanking me back. "Ow! What the fuck?" I hissed from the tight grip. Sunny pulled his hand back and apologised, "I'm so sorry! Moony- He- I- We don't want any secrecy from us three to become friends. Yeah. Bestest of friends." Sunny got giddy of wanting to be best friends. My face softened and smiled.

"Well. I promise. I was only thinking of the dream I had last night. That's all." And that's the only thing I said about the situation. I walked away to start on tasks, and I felt guilty for not being completely truthful. And before you know it, countless kids appeared and it became heavily busy. It was difficult to keep an on one kid when another decides to run off. This is why I didn't want any in the first place, and luckily, I won't have any.

I've managed to get back into the small little office part of the daycare and rubbed my temple on the side of my head to release the tension of how chaotic looking after small people without treading on them either. I stared at the light from the pc and checked what else needed to be done. "Food time and then nap time. And of course, cleaning up after the parents have collected them." I spoke to myself about what needs to be done. I must've stared at the screen for too long to notice that Sunny was looking over my shoulder.

"What are you looking at?" The voice behind me asked. I swivelled around with a scare and bumped heads with Sunny. "Ow fu-" I almost swore when Sunny pressed his index finger to my lips to shut me up and prevent me from cussing. He didn't feel that? I furrowed my eyebrows. I looked up at him and into his pale golden eyes. How did I not realise how amazing his eyes look? I blushed lightly until a kid to my side, who appeared out of nowhere, piped in. "Oooooh, Y/N is blushingggg!"

I swear. Kids these days are terrifying in knowing what they see. Because I'm telling you, I blushed hard and the more I tried not to blush and protest, the more I do blush and stammered. I had to usher the kid to go back and play with their friends. I exhaled loud and groaned inwards with how stupid I looked. Not only that, but I put my face in to my palms to hide my blush. "Well, this will be awkward..." I muffled my words.

"Not really. I didn't know I made you embarrassed or uncomfortable. My apologies, best friend." Sunny piped up from in-front of me. I didn't jump this time and instead removed my face from my hands. I grimaced. "It is awkward, isn't it...? Especially for me because-" I stopped talking and blushed further more and looked away. Sunny blinked and didn't understand in what all the fuss is actually about. Of course he didn't.

I gave an exasperated sigh, "I'll tell you when the kids are having a nap." My shoulders dropped and I walked away from a confused Sunny. It was now lunch time and like you would expect, the kids had pizzas. I helped in laying up the table and giving out pizza slices to the kids whilst not uttering a word to Sunny. I do feel guilty for giving him the silent treatment but I don't know what to do nor what to say. He's too innocent and I can almost guess in what he would say to my fucked up dream. That it's not real and colleagues can't date each other. Well no shit Sherlock.

"Now what have you done?"

"No clue. She's been acting off all day. I already noticed that earlier she was blushing. Perhaps she's getting a fever?"

"Dumbass. Of course not. She's embarrassed from two nights ago."

"Wait really?"

"Perhaps.. what did she want to talk about?"

"No clue and I haven't told her that I don't look after the nap time bit but she walked away before I had the chance."

"I'll find out."

"Don't be mean to her, please?"

"Yeah whatever."

Sunny looked over at me again to figure out what's wrong but I just gave a blank look as I trailed off into my own thoughts. I waited for lunch to be over so then I'll be able to talk to Sunny about the dream I had. And wouldn't you know it? The time disappeared and it was time for nap time. I followed after Sunny and the kids to a smaller room than the play area, putting out stuffed animals anywhere and everywhere, including pillows and blankets. The kids were hyper about nap time but they knew to calm down so they can hear the story being read.

I walked out of the room and waited for Sunny but what I didn't expect was the lights to go out. I groaned realising that I'll be talking to Moon instead. And I was right. When I looked back at the smaller room, Moon gently closed the door behind him and stared at me with his ruby red eyes.

"So spit out what you have to say that is so important to ignore Sunny and I today."
