note:  hey guys kunikida might be a little ooc in this chapter, hope that's okay with you guys! also sorry that i've been putting this chapter off for so long, ive been struggling a little bit.

( THIRD PERSON POV:)

you woke up to the sound of rustling and fighting, it seemed like atsushi found a way to outsmart akutagawa.

good for him, good for him. you thought to yourself

promptly you noticed you didnt wake up from the sudden noise no, the ship was sinking underneath the ocean... your mind flashed back to the battle with oshima where you nearly drowned at the port. your body must have regained consciousness to warn you. you're always finding yourself in trouble near water after all. how could you not think this through?

this was one of the only times you lost your composure. as water started to flood in more and more, you started to panic.

" um... um... NOT AGAIN" you blurted out quite unprofessionally.

" GO! JUST GO!" akutagawa yelled at you in a similar manner to those jocks in gym class who would scream at the introvert to kick the ball.

this annoyed you an immense amount. who did he think he was talking to you like that? wait a minute... why did he want you the enemy to survive? that didn't make any sense. there was too much of a situation going on anyways to think about that right now. only one thing should be on your mind.

ESCAPING

" don't.. don't tell me what to do!" you shouted as you looked around to find a way out. you looked out to the shining sea and saw kunikida driving a boat, probably to rescue all of you. eventually you found a breakout before time ran out. you hopped in kunikidas lift along with atsushi and kyouka. you were too consumed with relief that everything worked out that you missed the fact that not everything did.

you were too frustrated at akutagawas tussle with you to think rationally about leaving him behind right now.

as you got back to the agency, kunikida had a very stern look on his face. you usually would   just ignore this since he did this with most people but he didn't seem to be giving atsushi and kyouka the same look.

and that being very odd.

as soon as you walked into the building, he certainly didn't give you a minute to mess or chat around. he pulled you into an unoccupied office room. silence was spreading rapidly throughout the atmosphere before the two of you could say anything.

" so why was it you were awfully stern with me but not with the two of them?" you wasted no time questioning kunikida before he could give you those annoying, interrogating accusations of his.

"it seems that the brat and kyouka were abducted but you were not. do you care to explain such a thing?" kunikida looked at you with a judging look.

" i noticed they were gone or rather abducted so i chased after them, it's nothing you need to question me about." you gritted your teeth hoping he wouldn't ask how you got on the ship where everything happened. you were only able to do that because of your past as a mafia member.

" yes that was quite noble so im not really talking about that. this might sound rude but you more so got in the way than anything else. your intentions were to save atsushi but he would've been just fine without you."

"are you calling me useless? i would've been more help if i wasn't knocked out unconscious unexpectedly." you tried saying this the least offended as possible.

" of course not? that would be vile? that's not what im referring to at all. im just trying to tell you sometimes it's better not to act on impulse. sometimes things actually work out." kunikida told you.

" oh, im sorry for assuming then but things weren't going to work out without help anyway. you had to chase after us. however, that's a topic for another day."

kunikidas voice started to zone out more and more after your last reply. this confrontation with him made you think back to your argument with akutagawa when you almost failed the mission. tears started building up in your eyes, you had to get out of this room quickly.

if these people saw you crying... if even more people lost respect for you.. you wouldn't know what to do.
