Wildly, Violently, with Reckless Abandon (Our Bucket List)
~a poem by Bea~
Two people. Me and him.
A nerdy smile. An arrogant smirk.
"I dare you," he'd mouth.
That summer we made a bucket list.
We begged our parents for Vegas tickets.
We kissed numerous boys and girls,
"Get me while I'm hot," we'd say.
We'd scream our heads off
On Disneyland rides.
One day my crush kissed this girl - my enemy.
She was pretty, smart and rich,
Everything I wanted but never had.
That day I decided
To cross of the last thing on our bucket list,
'Bungee Jumping off a cliff' it said.
I crossed off 'Bungee', on the cliff,
When he said "Hey. What do you think you're doing?"
And I, without thinking,
Tossed him our bucket list, and, while he read,
Ran off into the unknown wildly, violently
With reckless abandon.
He caught up with me just before the grey waves engulfed me,
Held my hand and said,
"It's our bucket list, silly."
xx, Bea.

Author's Note: This one includes 2 deaths at the end, so I wouldn't dare say "Yay! Another poem!"
I don't know what was up with me when I wrote this one, since, although I usually write poems on sad, contemporary motives, they never end with deaths...This has got to be something new...
