'Stay soft. Do not let the things that have hurt you turn you into a person you are not.'

A pulse. Not from your heart, not from your wrist, not from your neck, but in your head. The pounding against your forehead was short yet frequent.
You tried to roll over so you could face down against what you thought was your bed as an attempt to cease the consistent, painful throb your mind was currently embracing, but yu found yourself restricted from something pulling your skin back.
Lazily squinting your eyes open, they landed in an unfamiliar habitat. The walls were a vivid new white, not dull and aged like you were used to seeing.
Your ears adjusted to your surroundings and the persistent and rhythmical tones of a tedious beep opened up your hearing. To your left sat a machine that displayed fluctuating, lime green lines across a dark green backdrop. Attached to that machine were wires that were uniformed chaotically, connected to different places on you.
Your body slowly adjusted after having what felt like the most soundless sleep you've had in eternity- bar the splitting headache you were currently experiencing ever since you first awoke.
The clogs in your brain rustily worked away, trying to analyse your current situation.
Where am I?
That one question you asked yourself made your heart race, the once regular beeping noice pattern becoming more vigorous and rapid. You had no idea where you are or how you got here.
Staggering off of the warm bed, you placed your feet gingerly onto the unfamiliar, cold floor.
Grabbing the cluster of wires attached to you, you ripped them off, a few areas stinging from the intensity of the rip but that momentary pain was not enough to outweigh your current question of where the fuck you are.
What once used to be a sound of hasted beeps that echoed around the room, was now filled with a long, hard, unbroken pitch that banged itself off of the walls.
Two people in pearly white clothing bursted though the door, clipboards in their grasp. They almost look shocked to see you.
You were stood still, in the middle of this room. Your chest rising and falling at a speedy pace. You steadied your fists in front of your face as best as you could in a defensive stance, as if this was a stand off.
"(Y/n), my name is Adam. I'm going to need you to calm down," Adam introduced, eyeing your readied fists that you held out. You ignored his request as you charged towards him, advancing towards the exit, yelling like a mad man.
Your movements were slow and uncontrolled, your reactions were even slower. Adam and his coworker did their best to conceal the exit away from you however you managed to stumble past them, throwing both of them to the ground.
Once you made it past them and into the unknown clearing outside of the door, you accidentally bumped into a stranger, causing you to flail to the ground, "Hey! Watch it!" He snapped at me. You ignored his indecencies as you sprinted down your path. Everyone around you wore similar robes, all in different shades of grey and even occasionally brown. A few wore this piece of clothing with their hoods up but the majority had them down.
You had been sprinting for what seemed like hours, a group of people dressed in white following behind you, Adam leading the herd.
You noticed some stairs that descended downwards and into what looks like an exit or entrance of this building.
