Relationships are always challenging to maintain, especially the Mother and Daughter relationship. Growing up in some Black households, you would see that sons are top tier no matter what they do, and when the daughter steps into her new "cycle," she's considered "grown," grown as in smelling herself, acting out in vain, or her mother's rivalry. That's the start of damaging the mother-daughter relationship. As time progresses, so does the condescending behavior, which forces the daughter to internalize her feelings. If you stand up for yourself, you're a disrespectful little BITCH.....is your daughter walking around on all fours? Did you not birth her, or is the mirror reflecting on you & you can't handle it? Nobody is perfect; however, our Black daughters need gentle mother love. The absent father is not the only reason why so many young Black & Brown daughters grow into broken Women.
