Few weeks later

Neji's pov

I stared at the big guy before me. He was at least three foot taller and five pounds more muscular. Judging from his lack of animal features, he was probably a special human.

I could hear the quiet laughs of our fellow students. They all whispered and laughed, comparing our physique and predicting the winner of the fight.

I looked from the students back to the big guy before me.

Hejiro Hiko, as the teacher called him, revelled in the attention and praise he received from our mates.

Turning around, he boldly announced, “This fight would be over in three minutes."

Our mates cheered him on.

Turning to me, he weaved a series of hand signs. A brief mist appeared and he multiplied into several versions lunging at me simultaneously.

Shadow clone justsu.

I remembered vividly. We had studied this particular technique only a week ago.

It was the most basic technique that every special human and demi human could perform irrespective of their powers.

I almost sighed. Hejiro thought me to be so below him that he lunged with such an attack.

Barely breaking a sweat, I countered with a barrage of kicks that deactivated the clones.

Hejiro stared at me, annoyance looming over his face.

Before I knew what was happening, Hejiro disappeared into the ground.

“The earth technique," I whispered under my breath.

I had read about the technique once. The user disappears into the ground and wades around until his opponent is distracted enough to strike.

I was at a disadvantage. The only way I could counter this technique was with advanced senses.

I went into a defensive stance waiting for his attack. The ground opened up before me and Hejiro appeared throwing a punch at me.

I stumbled backward at the impact of his fist but before he could disappear again, I hit him at the nape of his neck.

He was temporarily distracted and this created an opening. Without wasting any seconds, I hit him at the various pressure points of his body continuously.

When I eventually stopped, Hejiro Hiko fell before me incapacitated. There was a pregnant pause in the arena and I could feel my band mates smirking.

I felt a smirk slid unto my mouth as I was announced the winner of the fight. As I walked to where my bandmates were seated, I could feel the stares of our fellow students.

We had been here for a few weeks yet they felt we were below them. It was quite pleasing to put them in their place.

“Great fight Neji," Naruto's loud voice welcomed me as I sat.

I nodded in acknowledgedment. As Naruto went into the over animated details of the fight I watched as the next group was called in.

Ino's pov

I watched in silence with my fellow mates as Hejiro fell on the ground unconscious, not quite believing it. Hejiro was quite a pompous fellow but a formidable foe.

To think he was defeated by taijustu (martial arts for those who don't know) performed by a human nonetheless was unbelievable.

The scene was incredible. Hinata's brother loomed over his unconscious body waiting to be crowned the winner. A few seconds later, our teacher appeared, a look of bewilderment still on his face as he crowned Neji the winner.
