"How am I supposed to get that money now, Syd?" I asked pacing around my bedroom while Sydney munched on Vegemite and toast. Horrid that stuff is; I don't know how her and Ashton can stand it.
"I honestly thought you would have that pageant in the bag." Was her reply and I groaned.
"Well the thing is, Sydney, I didn't have it in the bag! It was rigged and now all I want to know is, how am I supposed to get that money?" I felt a panic attack coming on and I continued to walk around my room doing everything I possibly can to keep myself from pulling all of my hair out along with Sydney's.
"I'll take care of it" she shrugged
"Just like you took care of the Tyler cheating thing and almost got me suspended? Or what about your brilliant 'pageant plan,' hm?"
"Mack, do me a favor a find your chill. Just for a minute, please. I'll take care of the money thing and you just worry about your date with Michael, okay?"
I nodded remembering my date with Michael, I can't believe I forgot it in the first place. At least now there is something that can help me forget about this whole money thing. I decided to pull out my phone and text him.
Hey, do you mind if we maybe bump up the date of our pizza grabbing?
He texted back seconds later, quick texter, he's a keeper.
When did you have in mind?
Tonight maybe...?
Sure, I'll pick you up around 7?
7 sounds good, see you tonight!
"Aww, you guys are so cute!" Sydney cooed causing me to blush.
"I don't know what you're talking about" I replied. Sydney just rolled her eyes.
"Whatever, no one has made you smile since...well you know who."
It was my turn to roll my eyes. "Sydney, you can say his name, he isn't Voldemort." I laughed
"Shhh! Don't say his name!" She exclaimed putting her hands over her ears jokingly.
"Syd!" I exclaimed worry flashing over me.
"What?" she panicked.
"What am I supposed to wear tonight? I know it's just a pizza date, but like i still want to look cute and such, ya feel?" I began to pace around the room. He's got that sorta 'punk' vibe about him, what if I wore a flannel or a band t-shirt? I have dozens of Ashton's." I said digging through my closet.
"I don't know, Mack, but there is this something inside me that says wearing his best friend's shirt to your first date wouldn't be a very good plan. I don't know, though."
"Right, best friend's shirt...stupid idea. What do you have in mind then?" I asked. She sat down on my bed and pretended to think really hard. She shot up quickly from the bed after a few seconds of thinking. "By George, I think she's got it!"I shouted
"I do, I do have it!" She exclaimed "Wear that new top you got with the designs and shit on it, then wear those light blue skinny jeans, and some vans. It'll be casual but you'll still look cute!" She finished with a satisfied smile tugging at her lips.
"Okay." I said walking to my closet to pull out the clothes she was referring to. I got changed quickly before doing my makeup and hair. I actually tried with my makeup, but I left my hair in its natural mess of waves.
"You look cute!" Sydney smiled.
"Thanks" I muttered looking at my phone. Michael should be here any minute now. My stomach was in knots as the nervousness hit me. Oh God, he was going to be here any minute now. What if I made a fool of myself.
